The A.I. is very reluctant to trade and military boosting techs, that includes Advanced Logistics. They also don't like trading manufacturing techs, at least to me anyway. You are right though, the A.I. seems to share techs with eachother quite freely, which is why I don't trade out military techs. In the current game I'm in, every single A.I. has missles and lasers, but I'm to only one who has researched Mass Driver tech. The A.I. keeps trying to get these techs, but I kno

Pretty simple question. Do resources spawn randomly throughout the game ala Gal Civ, or are they now created upon map generation and do not spawn throughout the game. Is this adjustable? I really dislike the idea that resources apear continually in the match. I would prefer at least the option to have them be static, and therefore much more valuable. Thanks

I almost 100% positive that I've seen new resources apear in late games. #3 brought up an interesting point but when I see like 5 new resources apear on the same turn, in a region thats not being contested than I somehow have to doubt that 5 SBs were destroyed simaltaniously.

I play this game casually, and I play on Normal difficulty. When I play I try to aggresively take resources, as I believe they are the key to the game. However I notice that in long games I see NEW resources popping up. Unacceptable..I work hard in the begining of the game to get the upperhand on my opponents by sacraficing things and gambling on certain decisions to get these commodities. Howver all this work is RUINED in the late game when i see 5 new resources just pop up out of nowhere..and

I play this game off and on and keep current with the updates. However first I have a quick question, out of all the games I have played (BTW I don't submit to Metaverse) I have never run into a "permanent" wormhole..is this even possible? If it is not, doesn't that make wormholes kind of trvial? Right now I tend to avoid them, especially early in game as usually is just a hassle for me. Does anybody else think that there should be temporary and permanent wormholes? That would open up n

I had another thread on this, but I might as well make it in the official thread too. My suggestion was about the United Planetary Council. Being able to buy infulence points is a good idea, however it is flawed in the fact that the UPC issues are random. Some UPC events are very important and other don't matter at all. You trade some money or tech for some infuence points and they could end up being wasted on something you don't care about. The suggestion is, since the game no

Yes I was about to say about what E-trigger said. The problem with purchasing influence votes is that you have no idea what they will be used to vote on in the next event. At the very least there should be some kind of advanced notice as to what the next issue is to be voted on so I can decide if its worth to spend my money and tech for influence points. There are some very big votes on UP, like the one that makes everybody share ALL thier tech. If I was ahead on tech this vote could ch

Alpha Centauri had a neat feature inside of its "United Council" or whatever they called it in this game. When the time came to vote on issues you could talk to each Civ leader individually and try to "persuade" him/her to vote the way you wanted. Whether that meant through trade, threats, bribery etc ect it was a nice feature. Right now the UP feature is pretty poorly implemented IMO. From the randomness of the proposed issues, the fact that you can't propose any issues, to the guesswo

It seems to me that from reading the boards these random events produce way too powerful of enemies. Unless you pull some sort of cheese tactic, this event ruines games if your not already flat out dominating everybody. Needs to be balanced out.

woohoo! Started off going for the Trade/Research route while keeping a small military (enough to defend myself). However as I was really reaching what would be my civs glory days, the UP decided that we all SHARE eachothers research freely. This wiped all my my research achievements since I handed out about 15 TECHS and recieved NONE. P.S.: This UP events that FORCE you share tech are kind of rediculous. They need to be tweaked, either that or the ability for us the player to call UP me
