Muggaz, I'm giving you a hug right now, Muggaz, hope it helps. You know, my Nanna had been told by the doctors when she was 70 or so that she only had a couple of more years left in her as she had just about every ailment one could have.....but she was a fighter and wasn't ready in herself to go. She is now 95 and it's her birthday next month....I remember how she used to joke about it being her last christmas this year....that went on for twen

Texas Wahine, Bit of team work going on....I will check out your husbands site....if he writes as well as you do I'm sure it will be interesting reading! Hope your keeping well!?
Larry, I live a life without religion...I am not an athiest....I simply live my life. I understand people need to believe and hold hope in something such as God. So, I guess religion is important, but, are Churches important? Cannot people simply believe in something in their hearts and minds and still go about their lives without the need for a church as a place of worship?
Texas Wahine, Well done, M'dear....congrats!!!! You are definately one of the most intriguing, interesting and well written typity type type typers to search out whilst doing the rounds!!!! Will be seeing you around!
T-man, I would just like to say hello and let you know how much I am enjoying JoeUser. I came here, by accident really, whilst researching for a project and have found it invaluable to my cause. I was in need of understanding and being aware of others opinions and mindset ...and well as I said this is invaluable. There are so many people here who have similar ideals as myself and it has given me the energy and motivation to continue in my task.
Gideon, Thankyou for your advice it is much appreciated. I have done a lot of researh on the area and I do have a post....somewhere....with all the vital statistics of Sudan if you are interested. With the refugee crisis I would say that a lot of bribes would be soaking up much needed money and supplies as aid workers (Mercy Corps, Red Cross, Amnesty International, CARE are on site in Darfur or trying to) have the Militia who continue to terrorize th population and the Sudanese Governmen
Fasilla, Life is not a race. What a strange race to want to run as fast as you can when we know the prize at the end ....is death. It is a shame people feel they have to rush through their life experiences and I commend you for having the guts to do it your way. As long as you don't harm others by your actions you should be able to go about your life the way YOU choose to. Keep travelling on your road, Fasilla.
Thankyou, Ravenblack! I wrote it a few years ago and felt like sharing.....though I think I changed it a little .....couldn't remember exactly how it went of the top of my head! Do you write any poetry along with your Fantasy writing?
citahellion, Post away.....I love to become absorbed in a book but can sometimes have no idea what I want to read....so a little recommendation can go a long way. What is the basic story in the Gormenghast trilogy?
Peter, I hope that this is one huge act you're putting on because if it's not...you are the insignificant pleb that we should be rid of.
The world is insane We're all rats in a race Round and Round Keep up the pace You cant just stop You'll cause a jam Make it to the top You'll get your acclaim So, keep going round Hold your head high Don't look to the ground But reach for the sky
citahellion, Ah...thankyou, citahellion, now I can relax my mind as I have been torturing myself over my lack of memory since yesterday! Yeah it was all kinda the same once you read the following volumes but it is an interesting concept, though his attitude...that of Thomas Covenant ...was frustratingly pessimistic and you just really wanted him to embrace and accept his experience and run with it. Read any other interesting books you coul
Ravenblack, Molecular Bioligist huh?! Sounds very interesting......bet that keeps you busy! I'm totally serious when I say...just do it.....I had always thought of myself as the Queen of procrastination.....and I was....until I had my son and suddenly I had all the motivation in the world. So, with your writing, just start compiling your work so when you are ready to get it out there you have already done half the work. What would you be writin
Gideon, Sounds like you haven't had the easiest of lives......but , from what I have gathered from reading your articles, you have overcome it and become a decent individual despite your hardships. I wish the best for you and hope that your employment situation at present is soon something of the past. Best of luck, Gideon, and I wish you and yours all the happiness in the world.
Mignuna, How ironic....I guess it would have been hard not to laugh! Lucky the new owner had a sense of humour.
Ravenblack, I've had my nose in books for years....my favourites have been...Clive Barker's 'Imajica' , 'The Great and Secret Show', 'The Damnation Game'. Tolkien...'The Chronicle of Thomas Covenant' by......it's on the tip of my tongue....nope, I have a momentary lapse of memory there....oh well.....but I've turned to non fict. colin Wilson's 'Giant book of the Supernatural"....Sir Oliver Lodge's "Survival of man'...Mednick, Higgens and K
Texas Wahine Said: I honestly believe that the strongest human desire we have is the desire to be accepted by others (even people we don't like or think we don't care about) . . . and I think that desire drives us to do horrible, irrational, stupid, or dangerous things sometimes. Unfortunately that is so true.....and it holds us from being ourselves as we are too busy being what we think other people want us to be.... I
Ravenblack, Good to hear you're not letting the world get you down! It takes a lot less energy to be positive than it does to be negative about situations. And wherever you work there are always 'politics' going on.....sometimes it seems like people need to have something to make an issue of for the sake of it...... So, what are your interests, Ravenblack?
Texas Wahine, Thanks for the thought, I hope we come together again too. Who would have thought growing up as kids that we would all end up so far away....sigh. I hope you have the time of your life when your husband comes home of leave and I hope the time goes really, really, ssssllllooooooowwww...... See you around.
LadyCleve, Yep...there is certainly and interest and if your going to continue sharing stories and poems (I love poetry), I will keep coming back for a little visit! See you next visit!
Ravenblack, Fear is a spectre behind a lot in our society....and it's a shame kids pick up the instinct so naturally.....as fear leads to hate and anger..... If we could only talk to our kids as equals, not as adults who know everything to kids who know nothing.....my son, who is soon to turn four, is my equal, I speak to him as I do anyone....It's wrong to be condescending to children.....though I realize with absolute neccesity that it i
It's a bit of a metaphor.....also...really in relation to how we treat problems in life. Hmmmm.....I'm a little flat about everything at the moment and I guess that's why I wrote it...... and yes there is always regret .....that nagging feeling that you didn't get it right.. Howy're you doing Ravenblack........life treating you well?
Texas Wahine, When they're all grown up this is what you'll probably be thinking....... I miss solving disagreements by myself and being berated by my seven year old for my stupidity and unfairness. I miss looking all over the house at the last possible moment for my three year old's shoes because he won't put them in the shoe box and refuses to look for them without my help. I miss being bitched at because we're out o
Have you ever had one of those moments when you feel the answers to everything you ever wanted to know were right there inside of you. All you need to do is retrieve them....but the further you reach the further they retreat until they are teetering on the edge of your mind cliff.... cautiously you creep further but the weight of your essence threatens to
Red Rhino, What backward people.....they cannot accept those different from them....so do they mind that others do not accept them for their obscene differences. I have always believed that our outer appearance is inconsequential but it is our attitude and actions that make us who we are and separate the good from the bad. And to discriminate with such shallowness reveals a heart of stone.
