TechTV.com has ObjectDock featured in the Call For Help section. I guess word is leaking out....

I like the silver look. I browse with Opera7 and dverything opened nicely. It would have been nice if the main body of the site filled more of the screen, and there was no link to Wincustomize in the link section. Otherwise a great effort. I hope it keeps growing and is a great success.
I've had the same problem with some cursors. Usually if I switch to a different cursor the prob goes away. [ I like the "default" one, but that's the one I get most trouble with] I run frequent virus and spyware scans, so I don't think that has anything to do with it.
My condolences to you. Someone passing away always reminds us of how important it is express our love for our families while we can. I'm glad you could be there and be a comfort for her. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
jebland, that could be. I work at a commercial printer where we do mostly magazines. The last two or three years have been a free-for-all of major publishers buying each other out. That has caused a lot of duplicate titles, resulting in titles being combined or cancelled, with the extra staff personnel being let go. The publisher is Future Networks USA. I'm not familiar with them. Their website [www.futurenetworksusa.com] gets only a blank page. If any one wants to voice their opinion to
Maybe if Stardock gave some free memberships to some magazine editors they would get more exposure. I found SD by trying the free DesktopX trial I found on Cnet. I also doubt that Style has the same kind of community support you find here.
Recently I bought a special issue of Maximum PC, their Spring '04 issue called PC Answers. All told it had a lot of helpful information and was written in pretty plain English for those of us only aspiring to techno-geekhood. One article in the back was how to"Customize Windows XP" I figured there would be some mention of Stardock, Object Desktop, Windowblinds, something..... But what did the so-called PC Experts reccommend? Style XP! That would be fine if they had made some mention of the [
I tried again yesterday, but I couldn't find Stuffit. It may be the security settings preventing any downloads being opened [?] We've been hit with a lot of these stupid worms getting to our networks, although you'd think the Macs would be safe. Thanks for all the help. I guess I'll just have to be content with customizing my home computer.
Thanks for the help. Now that I think about it I know we have Stuffit on all the Macs. I'll try your suggestions when I get back to work, [which will be all too soon.]
OK, how do I unzip it on a Mac, at home I open with Objectzip from Mozilla and extract to folder. I don't use too many progs on Macs other than work-related these days. It's a G4 with OS 9.something. Does that help any? Thanks
TOday at work I went to WC site from a Mac workstation [I was on my lunch break so it was all on the up & up]. Anyway, I logged on and downloaded a wallpaper to put on that Mac, but when I tried to open it I only got a bunch of code. Are the items here only for PC, or was it because I wasn't on my home computer[a PC], or something else? I don't mean to re-open the whole Mac vs PC issue again, I work with both and I think they each have their own strengths and drawbacks. Just curious..... <im
Mason, Ohio....just NE of Cincinnati, anywhere near you LadySaraJane? [Not trying to be creepy-just curious]
I scan weekly with a variety of spyware detector/romovers. No SD products contain any Spy or adware, although one program showed skin dll as malicious spyware. Like an idiot I removed it only to find it was a necessary component of WB and I had to re-install it. I have found this to be a great site that strives to keep everything above board, honest and fair to all. I also find these boards to be a great source of help. This is a rare community of some of the most helpful folks on the web.
Mozilla has a great download mgr that gives you different options depending on what kind of files your DLing. Itusually asks if I want the default program [WB] to open. DL Mgr shows its progress and when it's done I get a message in the systray saying a new skin has been installed. The DL Mgr also gives diff options when DLing other WC stuff so you can choose how you want to open it and where you want it to install. Me like much better than IE! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smi
How did I never notice that being there? Thanx
All right, I've been playing with this whole OD thing and now I want to try a little skinning. I know I'm about the umpteenth person to ask for direction here, but the tutorial I've been trying to use says it's for an earlier vers. of WB. [I have WB4] Prob is my vers doesn't do what the tutorial says it should. I've had several starts but I can't seem to get the ffects I want. I'm sure some of you are groaning at the sight of this, but I would appreciate any pointers, especially if they point
Guess I'll never get that Farscape skin now! Just kidding! Wouldn't want anyone getting sued by Hensen! And btw some of us do try to read through th threads to get answers first, always try to learn from mistakes/solutions of others rather than stick foot in mouth [not that I've ever done that ,of course]
Only joking about un-install! I wish I had a better answer for you on the slow-down I defer to the greater tech-heads out there. Good luck!
What's your OS? If you're running XP and have multiple users with different themes running that will drag you down fer sher. How much RAM do have? 512 seems a minimum to keep everything running happily. Running graphic-intensive [ie:DX themes with a lot going on] apps use a lot fo video memory. Your video card will rob memory from your RAM if it's being maxed out. Running Sisoftware Sandra [free vers. on Cnet] will tell you more about your comp. than you probably wanted to know, but i
Shameless nailed it. I went back and re-downloaded the themes in question and checked the settings and they each had settings limiting the size of the desktop in the direction they were cutting off the browser. BoXXi, I e-mailed the names of the themes and authors, as I said I already posted a comment on the one theme, guess I should give him a follow up comment. Thanks also to stockholm syndrome for the replies. Hope this exchange helps someone else who hits the same problem. <img src="http:/
My resolution is 1024x768. The browder opened as maximized, but with left third missing in 1st case and topcouple inches missing in2nd case. Maximizing didnothing in 1st,in 2nd there was no browser bar to click on. The only way to close was to right click the button in the taskbar at bottom of screen. I wanted to run this past our IT expert at work today but he's swamped with "real" work, go figure. Thanks for your reply, any ideas? <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/notsure.
I downloaded a theme for DX, when I opened browser the left side was cut-off. Tried re-launching and ended up unloading theme, then browser was still being cut off on left. All seemed better a reboot. I then downloaded another DXtheme, this time it cut off the top of the browser window, same scenario as before, wouldn't work until a reboot. I've read through most of the threeads and didn't find my prob. I've used themes that came w/DX adn no probs. The prob was the same if I used Mozilla of IE
