So, have I contributed enough to be permitted to download once again? How about after mentioning all the emails I reply to regarding getting my icons to work or the fact that the majority of them have been made at the request of wincustomize users. Anyway, don't take that the wrong way. I just figured I'd throw that in because you'd have no way of otherwise knowing and it might help if there was the possibility of the powers that be allowing me to download more. Truth is, I do it for my own enjo

I've always heard that ATI's worked better with pentium systems and Nvidia Cards ran better with AMD's. I'm by no means an expert but I can say from my own experience that Norton Utilities SUCK. (except for their antivirus) Actually I've found that my systemworks disks do make GREAT coasters. My money is on Norton being the problem.

You kick @$$ dude. I checked out the site and I don't know if he can help, but the best thing about good sites is they usually have good links. If I can't get some of that stuff to work "grog" has a good bryce post that has a lot of helpfull stuff. I was thinkin of just creating a scene in bryce with a bunch of simple objects and saving it, then converting it, opening it in max, and then just saving the materials to my material library. I'm sure some of the stuff I've already come acro

Forgive me if this question has been answered in the past cuz I realize numbskull bootskins questions are a source of frustration over there. I've used bootXP2.5 for some time now and I like it and don't really plan on switching but I was going to submit my current bootscreen cuz I think your users may enjoy it. Is my bootscreen .ini made with bootxp compatible with bootskins. Even though I see no reason why it wouldn't work I didn't want to upload it if it won't.

Crazy Travis, When you say the difference may just be the header; could you go into a little more detail. I apologize if that's a stupid question, but I'm a noob. It does seem as though 3d materials are all comprised of the same basic parts Google must want more than friendship cuz I'm still goin through the list!

I was wondering if anyone knows how, if it is even possible for one to use materials from bryce 5 with 3ds max. The reason I was asking is I noticed that the material libraries in 3dsmax were identified as bryce material library presets on my pc. I didn't like bryce when I tried it but really dug the materials; I tried putting the bryce .mat files in the directory with the 3dsmax materials and 3dsmax showed the libraries as being installed but as being empty. Is there a way to use the materials

I personnally hated Bryce, and I'm currently falling in love with max. But that isn't why I'm writing this as I DO believe it all comes down to the area between the keyboard and the chair. The one thing I dig about Bryce is the materials. My system reads my 3dsmax .mat libraries as being bryce material library presets; but i've tried using them with 3dsmax and haven't been able to get it to work. Max shows the directory as being there but no materials inside <img src="http://images.stardock.com/

Wow man, I don't know much about the inner workings of the programs but I couldn't imagine it being a hardware problem. I have a 2700, an ATI 7000, and considerably less ram, and I also run WindowsFX + OD at the same time with no problems. Hopefully someone who knows can give you a definative solution but in the meantime I can tell you that I've been using mindsoft utilities 7.62 and noticed an immediate BIG improvement in performance. BTW: I have been told that Nvidia cards work better with AMD

Jafo, Im sorry it must've been temporary lack of oxygen to brain cells or something. I think the whole pre-approved thing is attached solely to the icons that had to be re-submitted after a nasty server failure. I do appreciate your time though, you guy's have a great day.

Yeah thanks for all your help again btw. This time my question was directed more towards updating files that had already been through all the proper channels and were available for download on the site. Sometimes it says "your access level has allowed for this skin to be pre-approved" when I update an icon; and sometimes it goes back to await approval. It seems like the more recent uploads more frequently go back to go through moderation wheras the older files tend to be auto approved.

I gotta question and forgive me if it's one that's been answered time and time again cuz I've been lookin for the answer before asking. Is there a set period of time an icon must be displayed before updating sends it back through moderation. Sometimes when I update it goes right through and is pre approved and other times it goes back into mderation. Just curious.

As for the objectionable content thing it doesn't surprisr me that it's there but that people still submit it. I no how it is though when you do a good job on something and wan't to share it; my best work is an animated Object Dock icon/ lightsaber battle between Obi 1 and Darth Maul that I'm sure everyone would dig but would never make the cut because you guys and myself would probably get sued. I guess you can't rely on everybody reading the rules. And thanks EventHorizon, that answers my

Thanks for clarifying the process and I do appreciate you guys changing the zero even though like I said I was more just kinda curious about the process than upset over a number attached to my upload. If you don't mind me asking; when you say "revised through public opinion" How exactly does one cast a vote, is it just by clicking on the ratings button. I ask this because I've clicked it b4 and was expecting a 1-10 selection or something. I just figured voting was handled by advanced members. Oh

I was curious to what were the qualities on which an items rating was determined, I know this is probably a question that comes up way more frequently than you'd all like it to; and I'm sorry if I missed that thread by a day or so. I honestly did seek out the answer b4 writing this. The reason for me asking is one of my pieces has a rating of 0. Now I'm not writing this to complain or tell you how you bruised my delicate inner-child or anything like that; because I make the OD icons that I submi
