[quote]Neglected to mention I'm running XP SP2. Also skins that are exhibiting this problem are Ares, Aura, GT3 OS and anything that has a user pic included. Thanks for the "magic pink" suggestion, think 'll try it. I think I have uncovered what maight be the issue; the WB skin user pic images are .tga files. XP has no idea what to do with them. I'm trying to convert these images to .bmp, moving them to XP user pic folder and see what happens. much rather have no pic at all so the magic

I'm a long time user of WB. Just update to WB 6.01 last week. I always run wihtout a user pic in the start menu. Unfortuntely the ability to hide the user pic seems to have been omitted from WB 6.01. Also, the last user pic selected in XP User Accounts ALWAYS shows up whether I have "If a skin has a replacement user pic icon then, etc., etc., etc....." checked or not. This is ahppening with all of the skins I've tried; Impulse, GTS3 OS, Azenis2. The only skins where In don't see this happening i
Thanks for the suggestions. Tried all of them and still no difference. This is really wierd.
Nope, not using ClearType. Just for the heck of it I tried turning ClearType on, no difference.
Running XP Pro and WB 4.40.036. Straight, sharp edges in some wallpaper images (for example, Cutting Edge), appear jagged when Show Desktop Icons is selected in XP. With this option deselected, the image appears correctly. Never saw this problem referenced anywhere and I'm out of ideas. Using an ATI RADEON 9800 Pro, 128MB RAM, Stock Catalyst drivers, 2.6 GHz P4, 1GB system RAM, 19" trinitron monitor @ 75 hertz, 1024x768 resolution and 32bpp color.
Thanks Essencay!! Worked like a charm.
I'm using a skin that applies a dark gray background to the document and work area in MS Word, the message pane and messages in Outlook Expres and some pages on the web like Yahoo. It makes the text very hard to read. I've fiddled with colors in SkinStudio and managed to get the folder pane in OE white but I can't find the items that effect the other apps mentioned. Help please. Thanks in advance.
I have 1.00.012 and it still does the same thing.
Thanks pictoratus! Tried it with a window open as you suggested and it worked without a hitch. Strange behavior but what the heck, it works.
Is there any way to specify the position where an icon will be placed on the OD background? Every time I create or drag a new item to OD it is automatically placed at the end. OD doesn't appear to allow dragging the icon to another position on the background. Just as an FYI if anyone's interested, I've noticed that my video performance improves if I use OD's Autohide feature. With OD permanantly visible I've observed a reduction in graphics performance particularly in IE6 and Outlook Ex
I''m a newbie to DX so this is a dumb question. If I install a DX2 theme, do I still need to run Windowblinds as well? I''ve noticed some DX themes mention that they would "look good with * WB theme" so I''m confused. I''ve looked over the docs and cruised this forum and can''t find anything that clearly addresses this. Thansk in advance for any help provided.
