does this mean i still have to keep craptastic impulse for old sins updates if i get the new rebellion?

the good news (if you can call it that) http://islanddog.impulsedriven.net/article/344308/Stardock_throws_GOO_on_DRM Goo... based on past experience i expect to have to compleatly uninstall my games and redownload them and reinstall them after the Goooooo update. I CANT WAIT /scarcasm
Good discussion. Based on what i read hear, and what makes sence to me, this is how i think it will shake down. Sins-entrenchment Sins2 - entrenchment-2 3 "expansions" to the orginal game except starting at expansion 2 its a new standalone game with the finnal installment being an expansion to version 2. Think Supreme comander and Fordged allance. FA is a compleatly stand alone "expansion" for
its fairly clear cut to me a third party software having nothing to due with playing the actual game itself that is responsible for "watching" the game for "managing updates" is nothing more than digital rights management. <!--[en
Is there a wiki or something that oulines what cap ships get what squads at what levels?
beats me other than i found them once.
Krickets.... so what your saying is no one made change logs for these updates?
im a dual capital rush fan. my first 2 mins goes something like upgrade home planet find out what planet reserch i need if any and start (first 2-3 planets) second cap ship Akkan first, Kol second with a colonly ship one heads in one direction the second in another, if it gets nasty fast i fall back and pair them up.
Whether you buy the retail box or download the game through Impulse, patching is still handled through Impulse. So you'll need it to update.
not entirely true. SOASE had standalone patches up to 1.04 you can find these still spred across the net. after that the next major update was 1.1 stardock then decided to roll back into a DRM scheme dispite the inital hooplaa about stardock going non-DRM for SOASE. thus any updates past

the advent super cannon (the eqivilant to the novilith) can culture a planet to death. if its a teammate, blow away the enimy culture so you can have a little time to settle it and get some broadcast structures up.
I had the same problem when impulse supposedly updated my sins from 1.14 to 1.15. the only response i got was "the update likely failed" whatever that means. all i know is that when the newly updated 1.15 (1.15.48 from the old 1.15.47) that my maps all of a sudddenly came back. Ive asked for a change log from 1.15.47 to 1.15.48 but no one has pointed me to one yet so i cant tell what they actually fixed. (if i had to guess it was just
not that i use it. not that i launch it. Firefox exclusely hear and impluse works (if you want to call it that) on my system.
were are the change logs for SOASE 1.15.47 to 1.15.48 entrenchment 1.00.025 to 1.01.026
There are some notable exceptions, like Supreme Commander, which was a really impressive feat,
yes, Ill have to screenshot my next SupCom match we play. We bounce between it and SINS when we are in an RTS mood. SupCom FA (which we play) has a nice ballanced 60-70% usage between the 2 cores of my AMD x2 machine.

Just right-click on teh app before downloading.
But unlike a retail CD. There is no garentee that impulse will be working some time in the future, and that your archives will un-archive some time in the future. For those that think this wont/cant happen. The current archives are sketchy at best to

Is there a specific place bug reports are supposed to go? first thing i noticed when i loaded 1.15.047 (per impulse screen) of SOASE (not entrenchment) was that the lower right hand corner (of the title screen) still indicated v1.14
launch impulse click the blue world icon in the upper left go to "register a product" there you can input the information you should have saved that should have been sent to you via an email by impulse when you bought Entrenchment the first time. When i log into steam it knows what games i have without having to re-register them everytime. Why Impulse doesnt do the same thing is beyond me.
And uninstalling the beta also uninstalled original for me. Im having to download both. Again. :/
same hear... why it cant just uninstall the expansion is beyond me. luckly i had updated SOASE first with an archive. ill see if that archive works before having to DL 2.3gig again.
Has this been discussed already? Why is a brand new game put out within the past 18 months not support multi cores? hear is a screen shot for my dual core while only having sins running. (multiplayer 2v2v2)
Look i payed for a pre order. Fine i can accept that. Perhaps i don't have an expectation to get my money back if a product never ships, or if it ships in some chitty state but looking past that to the beta. As a reward for my pre-order you allowed me access to a beta. Great Normally the way these things go is by downloading the beta you accept the fact that it is beta software, and there is some expectation of helping the dev's fix any problems
my experience with the latest patch went something like install patch for sins and entrenchment (it archiving both games before updating) run game get notified i had to uninstall and reinstall before applying new patch (WTF?) uninstall un-archive latest created archive (the one it just created 20 min before) for SOASE. that seems to complete successfully, but entrenchment not so much. try to play SOASE only. mini-dump black
after uninstalling and un-archiving about 4 diffrent times to get the majic order that Sins-entrenchment wants, no change for me. Mini dumps after about 2 hrs of play. No diffrent than any other beta versions of it they have released.
skybox off i want to see my nice light colored ships against a dark black space. im there to comand empires of ships, not look at prurty backgrounds.
