i have issue with the fact that TEC has to place mines with constructor ship. You only get constructor ships at plannets. therefore i cant put mines at astroid feilds, space junk, gas giants, magnetic clouds etc. All the other races use a ship to place mines so they can place them at those locations. It would be great to have mine placement via a drop down menu. Like attack formations of ships. close spaced, wide spaced, linear (one

Unless you turn off the (automatically on) option that says "overwrite archive on updates" then you will only always have one arcive from the most recent update. (that is to say only if you turn on (the automatically off) option that says to archive before update) To uninstall entrenchment completely (in order to only install SOASE) you have to manually delete folders and manually edit your registry. dumped 3 times on a game between myself and 3 friends last night (on the new beta). Not to mention wicked de-sink problems. About 2hrs in after we had fought tooth and nail to gain the upper hand on the 3 hard and 1 extreme computers and was about to move to the "fleet stomping stage" then toast...
Seems like a classic bait and switch sceme to me. I consider it akin to going to the store buying a box on the shelf getting it home opening it up and find out that there is a postit note on the inside saying "sorry delayed untill... well we feel its ready" dispite the fact we advertised it would be ready and sold you the box already. Mark my words. In these tough economic times it will continue to be worked on, the mini-dumps wont be fixed
ya but last i checked it was a RealTimeStragy game... meaning when the game is paused, nothing happens. like other RTS games often you cant even scroll around an check out whats going to take a breather. IMHO it works like it should.
I like the defense hangers... i quickly went from having 1 to 3 around many of my front line planets. I found that 2 repair platforms that overlap can keep a fleet patched up for about 3 times the length as going at it alone. (usually enough to whip out the raid, and only loose a few small ships [quote]Use them! 4-5 gauss turrets (or equivalent for other races) is not enough to defend your planet from a siege raid if you don’t have a stationed fleet there. ZOMG! pirates! seriously the pirates in the beta werent to bad, they showed up every now and then and for the most part i squashed them like a grape. so i get home from BB, pop the disk in, wait like 30 min for the thing to install (holy crap that took long) and jump right into game 1 of single player. and OMG pirates bent me over every horzontal surface! I managed to squeak out a second capital ship by scraficeing virtually all my built up metal and crystal,
ok well i called it a demo... the beta i guess is what they are calling it....
Im looking to DL a pdf and or HTML pages for the "paperwork" that would come with the inbox game. Ive been playing the demo and love it, but have been wanting to get my hands on a tech tree and or "instruction manual" that describes the various ships and ablities (an extenstion of the tech tree i suppose) anyway, do you guys have such a DL at this time? thanks
