I think that would go against the storyline. Supposedly, the older races already know where the planets are and have stellar cartogaphry, they just didn't have a way to get there until Humans invent hyperdrive. So you start out not knowing where everything is.

I built a hunter/killer drone (a tiny fighter) with nothing but engines and one doom ray. I forget the name of the engine, but it was the most advanced engine on the tech tree. 22ps/turn speed. I parked them behind a string of military bases with full sensors. Every time the enemy got within sensor range of a base, a horde of tiny drones with the most powerful beam weapon in the universe would swoop down on them from out of nowhere. Total pw

Advantages: You cannot be ambushed, unless they've packed their ships with nothing but engines. I've had the Yor and Dread Lords swoop down on my fleets from out of my sensor range and I didn't even know they were there. If you don't know where they are, you'll just run around in circles trying to find them, while they laugh at you stumbling around. You can ambush your enemy. If he doesn't know you're there, you can park yourself

Stealth would be a good option. We can do that today, why not 200 years from now? 1. If I have a massivley military producing planet, why can't I produce more then one ship at a time. I'm with you. During the "Dreadlords on parade" scenario, I had one planet surrounded by economy starbases that c

It's started crashing all of a sudden. I can be going along and suddenly it just dies. If I try to reload the game I was playing, it crashes out just when it starts to load. If I start a new game, it'll work until the first crash, then I can't reload that game again. I've been playing it constantly for nearly two weeks and these crashes have *just* started to happen. Nothing new added to my computer in that time. Video drive

A light fighter is a tiny hull with average 6 hps! That's one shot! It makes total sense to kill that first. Not really. If there's two enormous capital ships packed with weapons and two tiny fighters shooting at me, I'd rather kill the big boys first while I have the power left to do it.

There were severe performance hits if you saw most of the screen including lots of fleet / ship movements. Well..... that explains a few things I don't have "Eyes of the universe" - the Iconians have that. I do have sensors MK IV and I could have sworn I got something that said it improved my sen

I forget what it was, but I got or built something that increased my overall sensor range to about 15 parsecs. Now the game won't let me build anything with longer range than that. I built a long-range surveillance spy ship that SHOULD have a sensor range of 23 parsecs, but it won't see anything past 15. See the screenshot:

Question: In the battle viewer, does the battle actually happen the way it's displayed? Like, all of my ships all fire on just one ship at a time, and it's the ship I see being attacked in the viewer? If so, then I have a complaint. An enormous fleet of pirates would repeatedly swoop down on one of my mining bases, destroy it, then run out of sensor range. I got sick of this, so I decided to go after them. I sent two precursor ra

That is annoying. What I end up doing is building the ship (or finding an existing one), look at its details, writing down each module, then going to the shipyard. Blah....... Another thing I'd like to see is, let us see what components a ship has by selecting it from the shipyard screen. Currently all it shows is HP and attack/defense numbers. And.... Why can't we upgrade core ships? I really like some of the core ships, but I wa

I couldn't get it to install, because it kept popping up an error "can't find application Internet Explorer" ROFL So I installed it on Windows instead. I'll try moving the game folder over to my Linux drive later and see if that does any good. I can sometimes get a game to play on Linux like that, even if I can't install it normally.

Sorry in advance for the long post.... Three tips: 1) Research federation governments. Production and research goes up massively. 2) Research planetary defenses to get orbital fleet managers and planetary defenses and put both on EVERY PLANET. Even if that's ALL you can put on them, put them there. Otherwise, ships in orbit can only fight by themselves, even if you have eight ships in orbit. 3) S T A R B A S E S Now
