Not a dev (obviously), but I have to agree with the general consensus - I don't view it as a magical ability.
Star Dragon
LOL - I was trying to find something that would at least let me grab some free units without needing to worry about the "vanishing" part. I mean, sure - it's woefully underpowered when compared to beastmaster (... or pretty much anything ELSE), but I was hoping for a surprise. Of course, it wound up being a failure all around.
I'm *assuming* this will be resolved with the same fix, but the Bandit Lord ability has the same issue.
No sweat - hopefully we'll see 1.6 coming around the corner any day now. In the meantime, it still is a great game :)
To be fair, Primal_Savage, that official reply (which included no comments about when it was going to be addressed) was over two months ago. I personally have plenty of faith that this will get straightened out at some point, but no murmurs of 1.6 have surfaced anywhere. That combined with the age of the game can lead to people to thinking it may have been abandoned (to clarify, I'm quite sure it hasn't been). None of us know whether this is something that c
Ran into this issue, myself. It would be nice to know if a fix is on the way - I understand there are newer, shinier things out there, but this one is a killer for me as I *love* the Beastmaster trait.
Glad it found a home, and looking forward to the update whenever it may come.
Thanks, harpo. It was bugging me that perhaps there was something I was missing. For what it's worth, he's not bad as a fighter, although I wonder how he would have done as a mount. Perhaps next time I'll attack and see how he is that way.
Weird question - I came across Bonesplinter and defeated him (by snatching him with my beastmaster), but there was no more dialogue. Was that it?
I was going through a comp stomp and dropped an Arcane monolith to make life more difficult for a Magnar Pioneer that was searching for a place to make a city. Monsters were roaming everywhere, so I figured there was a good chance it would get gobbled up. While it skirted its way around my new territory, lo and behold a Ravenous Harridan's army (packing itself, two brood hunters, and two black widows) seemed to pounce on it. Oddly enough, they've apparently deci
Yeah, joeball123 is right that the essence number is there. However, I do agree with the "fade" idea. I like to see the area around my city and not just the numbers before picking what it's going to specialize in.
That's a good guess - I hadn't noticed it happening before I rolled out my beastmaster.
Edit - after further review, I've noticed there's also an issue that appears with the "tame" cooldown. The turns do not reliably decrease on its display, although it does come available again after the appropriate 10 turns (in the most recent case, while still saying it had 2 turns left on its cooldown). Just to clarify, the mechanics seem to work fine; all of the above are only display issues.
I noticed that when my troops were poisoned or hit with acid by spiders, the marker that appeared over their info card sometimes told me what the countdown was before it could be launched again from the spider (eg - 3 turns with Acid 1), or how long it would last when "fresh" (Acid 2 and poison 3, iirc). Neither of these indicators would update as turns passed. This leads to not knowing when my troops would stop taking damage. Probably just an incorrect variable (string) cal
Update Coming. Have been in contact with Nacey and he says almost has all issues corrected and finished. He had to take apart some of the code down to the line but hopefully it will be coming soon.
That's spectacular news! I just wanted to mention how much I appreciate everyone who spends their time on this mod. It makes a great game so much greater. Thank you, all.
I have the game registered with the Impulse client and not with the forum. I was not aware that in order to receive a free copy of Fallen Enchantress that I had to have been registered on the forums when I purchased it.
You didn't. When Stardock sold Impulse to Gamestop, your Impulse credentials were copied over to Stardock's. Keep in mind, this has nothing to do with the forums (although you can use those
I had the same issue, and the keyboard shortcut to activate explore (x) also turns it off.
Well, as has been stated numerous times, the Gamers Bill of Rights was about draconian DRM, not avoiding it completely (to be fair, the refund aspect, however, does seem to have a bit of an issue with any Steam-oriented approach but then again it's not as if this game is going to need a refund mechanism). Steam is far from draconian as far as I'm concerned. You can download the game as much as you want, install it and play it on as many machines as you want, and it doesn&#
Never thought I'd see the day when a Stardock game required Steam. This is very disappointing. Some have made the case that Steam has improved a lot over time, and I admit that it has been a few years since I last had anything to do with it, so I would like to ask the following: 1. Would I be required to authenticate for anything beyond updates, the initial client download, and the use of features that would have re

I only know how to get it if you purchased it from Stardock (that's how I got it). Assuming you did so in time to get in the beta, you should have received an email associated with that account that let you know the beta was available. That should have arrived within the last 24 hours or so. There will be a link that will guide you to the login site on stardock.com. From there, you can go to your downloads section and you should see a link to get the beta next
Steam Yes, there are circumstances where publishers can force updates (at least there was about a year ago when this was explained to me at length) despite you choosing to not update it. That's normally only done in extreme circumstances, such as to fix game-breaking bugs that are filling up the in-boxes of their tech support or updates to external DRM that would stop an old install from running. Ot
Of note, you'll have to convert the data from .bin to .txt, first. The game includes an application called "ConvertData_Rebellion.exe" that is a command-line method to do it (DOS prompt). Once done, you'll want to switch them back to .bin for the sake of the game's efficiency (it can still read and use .txt formats, but won't use them as quickly). I believe that use of the file is done like this (it's been a LONG time since I messed around with it, so p
There at least used to be some mods that did it for you, but I don't see any that were updated for the current version of the game. iirc, what you want to do is open up the player.entity file and remove the tech references to them all.
If they're also mounted on space ponies, I'd say it does.
