Self-will is my life silly … I am an atheist???

and I will not be categorized
but you've already categorized yourself many times giving yourself a title of atheist. You mentioned being self willed to which I replied "of course, you are doing exactly what you should be doing as an atheist." That is, you are exerting your self will instead of God's will. That is exactly what an atheist would do. There's a sayin
I had hoped to start a conversation about the movie but, oh well … You might have started out with your take on the actual movie … like have you even seen it, etc. It would help here if you had actually watched the movie
Well I went for the question that was asked. Sorry about that. Thought you wanted an answer. I haven't seen the movie. I don't usually watch rated R movies (with a few exceptions) which usually have glori
"My heart tells me that people are inherently good honest folk , but my experience has sadly proven otherwise. Would you say that people are mostly good?" The only way I can answer this is from my biblical worldview because that's what I believe is truth. It sounds as tho you are hoping like mad that you're wrong but your experience tells you otherwise. The experience you spe
In order to seriously (come on) have this discussion; YOU have to accept the PRECONDITION that there is some merit in there ‘warped minds’ in order to be able to argue with them.

We all are right and they are wrong … end of story.
sooooo exactly what are you trying to say BT? Are you actually (gasp) on our side of the fence on this one? Why do I have to accept anything
In her case, because she plans to keep it, I don't see any win-win.
I agree. Seen this before. It doesn't work. The girl I wrote about picked out and met the adoptive parents after going over many applicants. While in the hospital she changed her mind because the nurse brought the baby in to her to nurse (they messed up) and that was that. So she brought the baby home to her mom's and the adoptive parent's <
yes, Lula. I remember reading the history of how the whole Roe Vs. Wade decision was made by the lady that was used as their test case. She never ended up having her abortion and was tossed aside like garbage once the pro-abortion people got their decision. Norma McCorvey went on to work in abortion clinics afterwards for a while and later wrote about how the whole thing was founded on a lie as she exposed one lie after another.
Yes, I also don't know any who are celebratory about having to abort their child as if they made the right decision. I do know of a young lady who recently gave her child up via adoption. It's an open adoption and from what I can see and understand it's a win-win for all. The decision beforehand was excruciating for the very young mother and her family but now she's happy knowing she made the right decision The baby is
You have to be kidding me! Giving birth is more dangerous than abortion? Yep, that's what the doctors and nurses in Britain are being told to tell their patients. They just don't stop there. They go on to advise that these same doctors should tell their patients that there is no more trauma, illness or guilt associated with terminating a pregnancy than going full term and d
you need to leave your bible out of the picture
This is absolute nonsense along with just about everything else you've been saying around here. Show me where I've used the bible in my conversations with you. You know what I think? I know you really don't care but I'll tell you anyway. I think you thrive on negative attention. And I, for one, am not very good at giving that out. I'm all for comforting the afflicted and afflic
Being forthright and being hateful are two different things B.T. I had absolutely no hate behind my comments. I said it as I saw it. I don't know you, how can I hate you? Could you be confusing "hate" with having a differing opinion? Are you only looking for those who will agree with you? If that's the case, then most certainly Lula and I shouldn't be here.
Welcome, glad to have a fresh face on board. I'm sure you're alot more interesting than you're letting on. :)
We may be right (we believe we are) in which case you are in trouble in the next life. Or you may be right (we believe you are not), in which case there is no after life.
Yes, one way has dire consequences while the other way has none. If, we are right (and we believe we are) then those who do not, have lost everything. If they are right (and we are not) we have lost nothing.
I do not believe in god … what am I missing?
Salvation.
For the record..I was following the article(s) BT has put out and with a small exception said very little because I could see she/he wishes to argue and play the assumption game that I'm just not all that interested in playing. I also don't have a problem with someone being an atheist..pretty much as Tova said..actions and decisions have consequences, but ultimately it's your life, your choice. I praise God continually for opening my eyes to Him and I
kudos to Gavin! Where was Hunter? Nice hearing your voice T! Always making those yummy brownines....hmmm think I'll make some today. but I do have to say that looked like wimpy snow compared to what we used to get in Maine! :) We're talking knee to thigh-high most of the time! We never bought a snow blower ever until our three snowblowers (Bobby, Brian and David) moved out of the house. :) </
B.T....let's just put it this way...truth always rises to the top. The best friend of truth is time. I don't wish to argue with you, nor do I have any intention of trying to "convert" you. So you can relax.
good stuff Lula...except for the Catholic part..... [e digicons][/e]
It is all quite academic anyway because you cannot prove that Jesus ever lived on this earth
hmmmm have you ever checked the history of our calendar? Have you not known that there are other books of antiquity (outside of the inspired scriptures) that have mentioned this man of Nazarath who walked the earth doing miraculous things? Not to mention the men who died on his behalf.
a belief in an idol (or ideology) that I do not believ
oh and another thought that hit me when I saw the title of this blog... did you know that was the exact question Pilate put to Jesus before he gave his permission to have him crucified? He asked "what is truth?" when the truth was standing right in front of him.
Amen Doc! It's my opinion that he doth protest a bit too much.
Why can’t you guys take out YOUR frustrations and spread YOUR hate and prattle against those that openly profess to hate you and all you stand for (infidels that you are)
the only one spreading hate and frustration here is you. And you are so self deceived you even dare call yourself neutral. By no means are you neutral. Your words are evidence against you. The truth we believe has most certainly been investigated (like no ot
obviously there's a battle raging on inside you whether you admit it or not....otherwise you wouldn't have written this.
I don't agree. By your standard then all taxes are socialism. Everything done for the "common good" with those taxes is socialism. Roads, national defense, etc.
I know Doc already answered this and I agree with what he said but also roads, and national defense is something that is used by everyone equally. What you're advocating is like DG said holding a gun to our heads and telling us we have to pay for other children who are not ours as well as the res
Why? From a practical standpoint, the more support they're given (food, medical, safe environment) as children, the less likely they will be to suck off the public when they're older through illness (from poor nutrition as a child), have less medical problems which results in fewer workman's comp claims and SS claims.
this is a good point. But I still have to say going the government's route isn't the answer either.
First, because of separati
I think the shift in culture came because a lot of "religious" institutions dropped the ball, or just couldn't afford the task.
I think what happened to be honest T is the religious institutions (made up of tax paying people) couldn't afford the task to the degree that you're talking. The problem tho stems with the government and all it's programs to begin with. We've met many people in our business over the years who admitted they stopped giving to ch
