I just watched the demo of the latest version of OSX from Apple, Leopard, and the new "Stacks" feature of the dock is an Apple-ified version of ObjectDock's Flyout Menu feature. Just for fun, maybe Jeff/Stardock should send a cease-and-desist letter to Cupertino.

As a proud U.S. citizen, my first response to what Mr. Everard said was going to be snippy. But then I remembered one American tourist that I encountered in Tivoli Gardens a few years ago, and her behavior as she interacted with a very nice Danish lady at an Information kiosk (apologies to Mr. Everard for including information about Denmark while replying to a Swede ). Let's just call her behavior shameful.
I'm having the same problem. I'd like to know if it is possibly related to the weather server problems that Stardock is having. For now, I've reverted to the old weather docklet from ODPlus 1.5.
Mozilla Firefox 2.0 here, and I haven't looked back. Not even once. AAMOF, I found myself terribly annoyed at having to use IE6 on my kids' computer the last time I searched for updates to their system. I have checked emails with both browsers, and IE7 is the only browser that let me know that the website w
In the past, I have sometimes had issues with fonts in skins not appearing correctly, or menu items getting truncated, graphics drawing incompletely, or other minor and irritating quirks with skins on my dual-monitor system. To solve these types of issues, I have tried updating video card drivers, reinstalling fonts, deleting fonts, changing the size of application windows and using SkinStudio to alter the skin to make the issues go away. These techniques have been successful to varyin
Me too. Are you using the Alpha Dista icon package? When I load the XPlastic 2.0 icon package, the folder icon returns.

Very nice. Thanks for the info!
What WB Skin is used for the 3 middle screenshots, please? Thanks, Jeff
I have never been able to successfully get all of the Open/Save dialogs in all of my apps to show the IP icons. Sometimes some do, sometimes they don't. Using the same beta build as Daiwa, that's changed: now *none* of my open/save dialogs have the IP icons. This is after a full uninstall and reinstall. -Jeff
as Koastai posted in #2 it relates to how your files are associated with a single entry within the registry with a single defined icon. I wish it were that simple. The newest beta build uses the .rar association for .zip files, not the .zip association as one would expect. In IP if you cha
Hi, I'm using the latest versions of IconX (1.10.007) and DesktopX (3.10.042). I'm using the Default IconX theme. I'm using the marcintesh os-w icon set. My problem is that every time the Recycle Bin changes state (delete or empty), the label for the RB gets messed up. The text halfway disappears and the bg image seems to be stuck between the mouse over and mouse away states. As soon as I roll my cursor over the RB icon, it returns to n
*Bump* Still have the startup/missing tab/missing options problem with 1.10.007 and 3.10.042
Hi all, This is a small issue that has been bugging me for a while. In some applications, Adobe Premiere Pro (all versions) and Scenalyzer (release and current beta version) to name the two that I use most often, the tool tips flash on and off incessantly when a CursorXP-enabled cursor hovers over a part of the screen that activates tool tips. I would like to know what some of the possible causes could be? Both of those apps are
The release version has indeed fixed the drag-crash issue on my system. Thank you. Jeff
Thanks, Alberto. When I get back from my trip I'll try out the release version and report here, just to close the loop. Jeff
thomassen, No WindowsFX here. I unloaded everything I could from memory and got TaskMan down to 16 total processes. I saved WindowBlinds 4.50e(b).002 for last. When I unloaded that beta version of WB, the drag-crash issue in DesktopX went away. I need to add that I am using Windows XP Pro, SP2. Non-Windows processes I killed, in no particular order (in case anyone is interested in the environment): ProcessGuard 3.150<B
Brad - It's apparently not theme-specific. I loaded the new dev desktop and your simple longhorn desktop and I could duplicate the issue with both themes. 1. Launch DX3 in client mode. 2. Load theme. 3. Right-click tray icon and choose Welcome. 4. From the Welcome splash screen/dialog choose Create. 5. Observe warning about Builder needing the Client to close. Click OK. 6. Observe Builder configuration dialog appear.
I think the answer is too many theme objects at the "Normal" Z-order level. If I move a bunch of graphics and text and shortcuts to the "Desktop" level then the speed of the tray, PS and ODPlus return to normal. But with this theme, you have to be careful, because if you move key elements to the desktop level then applications will not respect the bar's position when they are maximized. Cheers, Jeff PS - I don't know exa
Brad - let me see if I can isolate whether or not it's theme-specific and give you exact steps to repro.
One other clue: I have no system tray objects in my DesktopX theme, nor in ODPlus. The skinned Widows Taskbar tray hides and unhides the tray icons very slowly. You...can...watch...each...icon...appear...and...disappear. Thanks, Jeff
Hi, The theme in question is Latin4567's Longhorn Slate 405 Link . It causes major slowdowns in certain apps - namely the expansion and contraction of flyout folders in ODPlus and lots of things in Photoshop 7. System: P4 3.0 GHz w/HT 1024 MB RAM 4 very fast Ultra ATA and SATA hard drives ATI Radeon 9800 Pro with 5.2 Catalyst drivers
AppName: desktopx.exe AppVer: 0.0.0.0 ModName: directgui.dll ModVer: 2.0.0.0 Offset: 00013830 I get this in the public beta if I try to drag the "Configure" dialog in either the client or builder. If I leave the dialog box where it first appeared, then I can work in it OK.
"Less is More" applies far more often than most people realize. Jeff
I think somewhere along the line tolerance became synonymous with approval . That's bad for both sides of an issue. Jeff
