Here is a tiny Drengin orbital defense drone I threw together in about 30 seconds, using Kryo's hull mod. Nothing special but I like it. BTW, awesome ships all.

Wow. Lots of good ideas in this thread.
I like this idea. It would certainly add another layer of choice when considering potential colonies (ie. whether or not the planet in question has a moon). Also, it makes sense that there would be some sort of military, economic, or scientific presence on the moons of various worlds. Great idea.
I had that happen and the Yor were completely taken out. The event disintegrated the Drengin Empire, in my game. All of a sudden, those ominous Drengin started looking like porky little purple aliens.
Are the I-League in GalCiv II?
I've had orange stars with habitable planets. Was it a minor race planet which 'appeared' mid-game?
Like he said, find them and crush them. Thats about it.
Probably that, if left alone, and given the right conditions, some minor races can build rather large empires.
make a new shortcut to the Galciv executable and enter 'cheat' outside the destinateion quotation marks. ie. "C:\game directory\galciv.exe" cheat
I've got two economic capitals thanks to that little trick.
I was playing a huge galaxy game when news arrived that several worlds (from several different 'neutral-leaning evil' empires) had broken off and formed some sort of cult against 'evil'. Luckily, I was not affected. My question is this: Did my good alignment spare my worlds from rebellion or was it just luck of the draw that this thing missed me?
Very nice - but there is no "logo" directory in my galciv2 folder - am I supposed to create one? Custom logos go into "My Documents / My Games / Galciv 2 / Logos"
That happened to me too, last night. I just quit and restarted the game and it was all better.
I have also only seen them when there was a prison break in one of my planets. I've heard of pirate activity and whatnot in the game though.
I go with dedicated research bases as well.
A B5 mod would rock. Unfortunately, I lack the skills to make it happen.
Sounds great. Is there any way to have rotating parts on ships? (a la Babylon 5)
Looks awesome. Allow me to join the chorus of those asking for this to be made available.
I just did a complete reinstall. SDC Galciv and all from scratch. Its working great now. Thanks for the help, you cant beat the customer support here.

I just upgraded to 1.05.069 and instead of crashing at the race setup/saved game load screens, my game now crashes a few seconds after i double click on the icon or play from the cd menu. :notsure: :notsure:
Im also experiencing crashes after updating to 1.05. However, my game crashes at the Race Setup Screen when I start a new game and at the loading screen when I load a saved game. :notsure:
I dont know if its been mentioned but having a wider variety of status's for sectors would be interesting. For example, along with the existing (neutral, yours, or theirs) statuses which are in the game, things such as demilitarized sectors which you could not enter without starting a war would add something to the game. Disputed sectors along the borders might work too (like in BotF).
does anyone know if there are supposed to be movies for planetary improvements (such as secret police or soil improvement)? ~SDC~
how about having the option to conquer a planet or liberate the planet (if the planet is a conquered planet). This would really help in situations when your running short on trading partners. Especially if the liberated planet or minor race was very friendly with you for your benevolence. ~SDC~
