I've just returned to the game after about a 3 year layoff (!) I quit playing because I became disgusted that they kept changing it with every patch. :p I'm a mediocre player and the changes just kept making it harder for me. And less fun to play! Now I'm playing it with no patches. Straight out of the box. The way it was originally designed to be played. It's fun! Of course, I won't be able to submit to the Metaverse. (:( But anyway I'm having fun and that's what cou

Actually my post #318 is still true. The Planet list simply does not reflect what is being indicated on each planet. The Military Production is wrong, the Social Production is wrong, the Morale is wrong. I can live with it, but I think it should be fixed. Thanks.

Referencing the Planet list again, another thing I've noticed is that when I get more than seven planets, the scroll bar doesn't show up. So, I can't scroll down to see what is happening with those newer planets. In other words, I'm only able to see seven planets in the Planet list. This makes the game most difficult to play as I check this list on every turn. I'm only able to see what is going on by cycling through every planet individually. Thanks again. :)

There seems to be a problem with the Planet list. It is not being updated between turns. For example, in the Planet list, Earth will indicate that a colony ship will be built in 2 turns. But, if I click on Sol, and look at Earth it will say that the colony ship will be built in 1 turn. Another example: the Planet list will have Earth's morale as 98. I want it at 100, so I go to the Domestic screen and lower the Tax Rate until the morale is at 100. But, when I go back to the Planet list to

It's sad that winning by Cultural Victory is penalized. I think it's the "nice" way to win. After all it was put in the game originally as a way for the Humans to win over the Aliens to their way of life in a peaceful way. Which is a much "nicer" way to treat other beings than to wipe them out. But, if we want to have better scores on the Metaverse, now we have to turn Cultural Victory off, which is just a shame. I wish there was no difference between the type of victory that we accomplish.

Please fix the Metaverse so I can submit my game. I've been trying for two days. I believe other people have been able to submit their games in the last two days. Why won't mine go through? I use version 1.021. Does that have something to do with it? I surely hope not...

Ironrod, My strategy probably only works on the easier levels up through Normal level. In fact in my latest game, I had to go with 100% military spending instead of 66% in order to get enough colonies. This put me way behind in Research for a while. For the higher levels, look at the other posts on this Forum. By the way, I play version 1.021. No Starbase or Scout maintenance. I use this version because it is more fun and that's all I want in a game. I'm just a casual player look

Oops, I forgot! When you set your social slider to 33%, you'll now be able to start building infrastructure on your colonies. You should start building Soil Improvement right away. Here is my usual early build queue: 1. Soil Improvement 2. Habitat Improvement 3. Banking Center 4. Fusion Power Plant 5. Entertainment Network 6. Research Lab 7. Manufacturing Center You'll need to research some tech te get some of these buildings. I think

Jason, Here's what I do (currently anyway): First of all, as soon as you see Sol with your first colony ship and your survey ship, save the game! Call it something like: Save000. Keep this throughout the whole game in case you want to start over for some reason. The first thing I research is Communication Theory. I want to head for Diplomacy so I can change my government to Republic. Being a Republic allows you to build things faster. The first ship I build is a

Please don't make this game so complicated that casual gamers like me won't be able to play it. I was never able to get into SEIV Gold because by the time I got it, it was so tinkered with that it was just too overwhelming for me to learn. The beauty of Galactic Civilizations is that it is simple on the surface but has great depth underneath. Please ... keep it simple! Don't destroy it by adding layer upon layer of complications to it. Think of the 90 percent of us who just want to have a f
