I've played AoW:SM and liked it a lot. I also tried the mod 'Age of Glorantha' that was made for it. One of the few mods that make it play as a different game adding all sorts of new content. PS: If any one is interested in playing 'Fall from Heaven 2' you need the Civ4 expansion pack 'Beyond the Sword' to play it.

If it wasn't for that mod and others, I'd probably stopped playing Civ4 quite a while ago. If you like Fall from Heaven 2, you have to try Fall Further, a FfH2 mod mod.

I've played AoD and recently AoD for Colonization and enjoyed them both. I sure you'll do a great job with modding this game.

Tech vs Magic... Well not to the extent of limiting the dwarves to Tech and the elves to magic. But giving bonuses and/or availability to various paths to certain races. I agree that it would increase the re-playability. Hmm,TechnoElves.

Another cool feature would be to add technology to the MoM concept without diminishing the magic side. So that in theory you could "rule the world" with a focus on technology, or with a focus on magic, or of course combine both Sort of a Master of Arcanum. It would be interesting and would make a good game but it wouldn't be MoM. Not to say your id
