As a side note if I go to the game directory and use the run application I can start the game but I do not consider this a fix.

So I purchased Galactic Civilizations 2 Ultimate Edition on steam today for 5 dollars, it shows up as the ultimate edition. When I start the game it shows me a serial and I copy it and when the game asks for it, it says invalid serial. What do?
