Problem with Notepad vertical scrollbar and text window border in SkinStudio in Skinning WinCustomize Forums

Using SkinStudio, I'm not able to get the vertical scrollbar arrows and scrollbar background to line up properly in Notepad (though the horizontal arrows and background are fine). Oddly enough, they line up in every other app I've tried including Wordpad. Also, I'm not able to control the color of the 1-pixel text window border in Notepad or Wordpad (currently black). I already tried uninstall/reinstall but no luck. Only 2 possible but unlikely explanations occur to me. One is that I'm running the Windows Classic rather than XP style; the other is that before I opened a Stardock account, I was running the trial version of WindowFX which has very limited options. Could either of those 2 cause this behavior?

Effect not supported message in WindowFX Stardock Forums

Curious thing: whenever I try to apply any effect in WindowFX, it responds with an "effect not supported" message but applies the effect anyway. Anyone know what might be causing this?

Thanks very much for replying. I assume SKS is Skin Studio though I've never used it (I've been doing desktop design but not designing any desktop elements). At any rate, I just opened Skin Studio to see if I could figure out how to change the throbber but can't find a reference to it. Can you point me in the right direction?
