Everything's working fine now that I manually added the shortcuts (and deleted the old ones). One of these days I might try your suggestion, but for now I don't want to invest any more time in this issue. Thank you, James Bland

I finally resolved the issue by manually creating a new shortcut in Windows Start menu. The old short cuts (both Fences and Start11) looked fine, pointed to the correct application but triggered the AUP uninstaller routine (bypassing the usual menu displayed at the start of AUP). Weird, to be sure. Did I mention that I hate computers? I just won't let them conquer me (35 years of fighting professionally). The first program I wrote was on punch cards and the stupid computer rejected my
I never though of right-clicking on an empty area of the Start11 menu. That works, but sure isn't intuitive. I was trying to start the configuration from the start menu all programs shortcut under Stardock/Start11 ("C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\Start11\Start11Config.exe"). Strange how only Stardock programs trigger Advanced Uninstaller Pro (and it's been going on for quite some time (despite system rebuilds)). I'm still waiting to hear back from Innovative Solutions (Advanced Unins
There is a conflict between Innovation Solutions Advanced Uninstaller Pro and Stardock Start 11 and Fences 3. Whenever I attempt to change settings in either Stardock program via the desktop icon or the Start Menu entry, Uninstaller Pro pops-up asking if I want the uninstall the program. I can enter the settings of Fences via the desktop context menu, but there is no context menu available for Start 11. The only way to get to the Start 11 configuration was by removing Advanced Uninstaller Pro
Start 11 used to fix the bug in Windows 11 that turned "Restart" into little more than a glorified log out function. If you tried to shut down Windows from the lock screen, you were warned about lost data and open files. Start 11 closed all files when restarting so you could confidently fully shut down the computer. With the latest update, Start 11 "Restart" functions in the same manner as Windows 11 stock "Restart" function. The importance of the loss of this feature makes me
I would have never thought to look at the desktop view option. I didn't even know Fences could be locked. Thanks for the heads up.
Hey, how about that? It works! Thanks.
Start10 is a great program. However, I lose the context menu with the Start icon when Start10 is running. I really like quick access to all the shortcuts offered by right clicking the start menu icon in Windows 10 - shortcuts that are gone in Start10. Any suggestions?
