In my case Fences always worked properly. It was just that I started experiencing my weird desktop problems after the Feb. 8th Windows 10 update. I never had any problems after Windows updates and the only thing that was different was that I had recently installed Fences. So I was wondering if Fences conflicted with the update (or visa versa). But I uninstalled Fences, had the same problem, reinstalled Fences, had the same problem. When through all the standard Windows tuning, checking, repai

After the 2022-02 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 20H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5010342) my Desktop had been acting very strange. e.g. No response to mouse clicks. Can't close open windows. Desktop icons suddenly turning blank. Taskbar icons turning blank. The only way to fix this is to Ctrl-Al-del and log out, then log back in. This has never happened after a Windows 10 update and the only difference to my system is that I installed Fences 3 a couple days ago.
I got icons and shortcuts arranged on my Windows 10 desktop in a specific way that makes them easy to find. e.g. TBS strategy games are in a row, RTS strategy games in a different row. And each icon/shortcut is in a specific position in its row. But now I got too many and they cover half my desktop. Therefor on my desktop I want to a create folder for each row. e.g. TBS Games, RTS Games. And I want to put the icons and shortcuts into the corresponding folders. And I want t

And is the Founder's Program price more or less (or the same) as it will be on Steam?
Is there a way to turn off edge scroll when the mouse cursor gets near the edges of the screen?
Yep. God made the big man and God made the small man. Smith & Wesson made the equalizer! I agree with your stance 100% BTW: I grew up in a small dying steel town too: Johnstown, PA. 65 miles east of Pittsburgh.
i haven't payed since the last time I posted here. And OTC had been updated a few times. It seems that on my Mac OTC has gotten a lot slower and much less responsive. So much so that it is mostly unplayable at 1600x900 on Medium graphics settings. Before it was playable. Nothing has changed on my Mac. But no problem as my Mac is way below lowest spec. On the lowest graphics setting is runs perfectly.
Oh. I see. Thanks.
Almost every other day Steam downloads a new update of Offworld Trading Company. When I look at the news for OTC there is never any release notes or anything to show what was fixed/added or if indeed this game was updated. What is the story on this? How often are you updating on Steam? And if you are please write what was changed in the News section for the game. Every game on Steam does this.
Same here I just bought the Founder's pack and paid with PayPal which uses one email address. Then I installed the game via Steam. I also have a Stardock account under a gmail address with a password. But When I try to login to the Founder's Vault with my Stardock account gmail address and password It does't work. When I use the email address that I used to pay for the game I can't login because of course I have no password.
@raptor980 What are the specs of your computer? I am thinking of becoming a founder but my late-2009 iMac has only 256MB of VRAM
`DeftMunky I have been playing on my Mac's Bootcamp partition (Vista) which didn't have edge scrolling enabled and it was ver playable except it keeps crashing on my old hardware/software. But I was still able to finish some tutorials and it is a wonderful game. Now that I can play it on OSX (Mavericks) which is more up to date I don't thing it will crash, and will be even more enjoyable.
It's been a while since I played and I see there is now an option to turn off edge scree scrolling, Thanks! That makes OTC 100% more playable for me.
Could it have been NGUI for the UI?
I'm the guy with the old below spec iMac. The game starts up nicely with smooth responsive menus now under both Vista and OSX.
My hardware is a late-2009 27" iMac running Mavericks. Processor 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Memory 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 Graphics ATI Radeon HD 4670 256 MB I would rather run OTC in OSX but at this time I prefer running the game in my Bootcamp partition under Vista because I can
Thanks for the pointer Tigershawk. I'll try that. And no, it isn't pretty far down the minimum requirements. It's completely off the list (late-2009 iMac). Which means I don't expect any support. And since my specs are so low I even asked the devs if I should stop posting my feedback so as not to add noise to this forum. But they told me to keep posting because they were glad to know how the game performed on such a low-spec system. And besides, before this p
my menus are gone no too on Vista. I tried the start while holding down shift key to choose resolution. I tried various resolutions with/without windowed mode and nothing works. My drivers were just updated to the latest too. It was working before this update. Now I can't play at all. How do I start the game using DirectX 9 drivers? That option used to appear and now it's gone too. It is OK on Mac Mavericks though.
another reason it is better on Windows than on OSX is because you can disable that very irritating edge map scrolling (which is a problem on most games when the map is bigger than the viewport).
I run the game under both OSX and Vista, both on my iMac (Vista installed in Bootcamp partition). The reason to run under Windows is the game runs better, probably because Windows GPU drivers are better. I can run 1920X1080 (Medium quality) under Windows. To get the same performance under OSX I have to run it at 1600x900.
Cool. Thanks.
A while ago (before being on Steam Early Access) I heard that OTC was available for preorder and I was ready to buy it (I think the price was much higher then) and then I read the hardware specs. My hardwares was way below minimum spec so I decided to put off buying the game until I could get a more powerful computer (probably a few years away). I still kept up with the progress of OTC via Game Designer's Roundtable podcast but in the meantime I forgot about the minimum spec for this game
I use WASD. I just want to be able to turn off that map scrolling when the mouse pointer reaches an edge of the game screen. The map always scrolls when I don't want it to, like when I move the pointer down to the toolbar on the bottom left the map usually scrolls up. On Windows the edge scrolling can be enabled/disabled with the numerical keypad numlock. Lot's of Macs don't have numerical keypads unless you have one of those extended keyboards.
Just wonering what resolution and what quality settings you rin at and if gameplay is smooth?
