AMD dual core 3.0 Ghz, optimizer installed 4 gig ram ATI 3870 512 meg running xp pro svc pack 3 sorry new at this stuff, anything else i can answer?

So i love playing the game, i really do. But this problem popped up a couple weeks ago and is hampering my style. I go to the shortcut in the start menu, and click. The little hourglass pops up. Then... nothing. confused i try again. i try 5 more times. Finally i just go to the game file and try running the exe directly. Same thing. eventually i get aggravated enought to begin clicking like a madman on it until a little warning window about no room for s
