Unable to download update in The Political Machine 2004 Stardock Forums

Hi guys, Trying to update PolMach2008 through Impulse, but at the bottom it continuously saying "Downloading Impulse update-Connecting"(In the update tab). I turned off the Windows Firewall through Vista (not sure if that matters), but it is still not connecting completely. Any suggestions? EJ
