I have a simliar problem. The game just does nothing when I klick on the exe file. I'm running xp on my system with an nvidia cart. I really hope they will be able to fix this as it has been a problem for several updates until now.
Well at least you can get it so start up, on my machine (with XP) it won't even start no matter how many times I klick on the run button. I hope they will soon figure a way out to solve those problems.

I actually use Kasperky as my firewall, and if I shut it down the same thing happens. Just can't get it to run.
I actully have the same problem. The application just wont start. Could i have the same application to help find the bug?
I just bought the game and really love the general concept. But it just is a little to slow for me even on the fastest setting. I would love a mode or mod which would speed things up so a 1v1 can be completed in 20-30min and have big epic battles. Especially the moving speed of the ships and the time it takes to destroy other ships and planets take too long for my taste.
