I signed in for the first time in ~7 years to publicly rage-quit at the lack of overflow... I was all righteously indignant and this just took the wind out of my sails so now I'm a little lost. Instead I guess I'll just act petulant at trainwreck UI and the absence of manual describing basic game features (in game, out of game, or wiki (the gamepedia one is skeletal))?

Are you serious? I've been contemplating making a post to the opposite. I was decimating hard(1.03) AI on just my second game... If the learning curve is steep it's countered by the fact that the AI is as confused as you are. :)

Actually, I had the same thought when I started playing. Don't get me wrong, I really like Sins, but it does bear striking similarities to War3. Especially Heroes/Capital ships. The rapid fanboy denial theses published in this this thread are funny in a facepalm kind of way. Like it's blasphemy to suggest games can be similar or something. :P
