Trompe l'oeil murals can be very realistic. They can be painted directly on the wall or painted on stretch canvas.You can put dimmers and special lighting to create certain moods!! I have made 3D windows with a contour of real mouldings,real shutters on each side and a flower box. On the inside of the window I painted a window mural of a country scene.I do a lot of that kind of work!!
