to late, to little, to unoriginal. And from MS who brought us the most awful hardware over the course of the last decades. Sure i am going to pay MS tax on my mobilephone when i can get a perfectly working OS free of charge. So in order to compete they either have to make a loss on the OS or skimp on the hardware. What would MS do? I know, skimp on the hardware quality. C chips come very cheap.

As i am sitting in my luxury CEO type rocker chair with my keyboard on my lap, quite a distance away from large monitors, i totally fail to see how W8 could possibly even come close to the easy of interacting with my computer, let alone surpass it. Only trustworthy way is build one your own or have someone trustworthy write it up. It's very simple. Just a TCP connection, an IP address broadcaster and a gui. I'd never trust a random plucked from the net IM. Even the biggies are not secure.

Well. Anyway. They have an uphill struggle against Apple and Android that's for sure. Their tablet platforms are pretty solid already and the application base is pretty big. To enter that arena with MS's consequent lack of innovation and interest what the client wants is a recipe for failure. Personally i am a disaster with linux, but Android stole my heart. It actually works without having to geek out on it. I currently run a custom rom on my Motorola Xoom which is really very beautiful.</

Problem is those 'apps' are el cheapo knock offs of mobile apps and are very hard to use due to the limitations Metro imposes on the layout. You can get about half the information on screen as without them. We'll have to wait for Windows 9 i guess when the public has been used as a beta test platform again like with vista. I'll give it a miss. Btw, Displayfusion also rocks and is fully Windowblinds compatible.
