The AI doesn't take advantage of diplomacy and that is a huge weakness in it's strength. For instance in any given game. I the human player can trade all other races (up to 99) 1 technology for x technology the other players have, therefore that one technology gives me potentially 99 different technologies. Now I know a lot of them have researched duplicate technologies and that is only in theory, in actuality it
Goatmeal, Not necessarily, the mass limit on a chassis/hull is for a ship what logistics is to a fleet. The difference on a ship is the components add up but in a fleet you get the slower speed (and lower range maybe(not sure haven't checked)) the code for making a good fleet, like picking ships with the right weapons and defenses would look similar to adding the right weapons and defensive modules.
What they may be able to do is put something in though that shows the maximum values if one would switch funding on that colony to 100% in that category with current buildings on planet.
that's actually what I had in mind
In the govern screen we can see the current production/research/wealth in their respective columns. What I'd like is to be able to see is what the maximum values for each could be. In the early game this isn't a big deal but once the number of colonies grows it would be nice to decide at a glance which world i want to make my research/manufacturing capital etc. For the galaxy minimap an option to see the area of effect of starbases (especially by type, ie. militar
maybe custom political parties would be better (you choose bonuses similar to like when choosing a race) the opposition parties would take the remaining bonuses. another possiblity (although it may be too much) is to have the AI leaders(or just their actions/priorities) change depending on their election results. of course with a change of leadership in your race you would loose alot of control of the other parties decisions (ie they can make or break alliances and start/en
things i would like to see: building and expansion: -use class 0 planets as resources (mines factories but no population) essentially they'd be bigger starbases influence and economic starbases should be combined -colonizable moons of planets (or use then as recources as above) -more terraforming ability (some harsh environments will reduce population, prodution and econ) game play: a mo
i see strategist's point but at the same time i'd have to disagree with him yes fixed specializations, characteristics, and unique units are nice BUT when the civ 4 manual says the game will be the most customizable ever and i can't have an aggressive industrious german leader (lets call him adolf) then its not very customizable imho however the two games have alot in common alignment is similar to religions in civ 4<b
