Hello All. Firstly let me get the gushing out of the way. Great topic Dystopic , threads like this are what make the internet great. And chaired with aplomb. Bravo. Now to business, have you ever played any Games Workshop games? Their background for the 40K series is a widespread human dispora that sounds bit like what your aiming at. They also have what you'd probably call sudden fiction "flavour" texts spread through the rule books. Although they do have warp space and daemons

Wow, thanks all for your comments and suggestions. So to start at the top; I got the game just after release so I've been playing awhile, I think I have a reasonable grasp of the way it works. Always room for improvments though hey? @No118 (I only just got that when I was typing it then, I'm dense I know) I remember reading your AAR when you posted it, Probably what got the cogs turn

This is my first post creation and the title says it all, Has anyone tried an OCC (OPC)? Is it possible? For those not in the know, OCC is a term from Civilisation circles and stands for One City Challenge. It is a way of playing Civ where you only allow your self one city, generally undertaken by advanced players to make the game more challenging. In GalCivs it would be a One Planet Challenge of course. I'm planning on trying one when I next get chance to play (probably at the weekend

Or... perhaps something like having the affected planets "highlight" when they are in the constructors service radius That would be cool.

Theres no point upgrading freighter engines for those already on routes, the mini-freighters only move 1 anyway. I think you could fill them with engines to get them there quicker, then upgrade them to have weapons and armour (incase they get attacked) before starting the route. I think it might get on the AI's goat a little having a percived Attack ship hanging around there worlds for multiple turns at a time though. Also I seem to remember from a post a while ago, If you upgrade a s

What will your Empire have to offer? What benifits will I gain from being a member? Will I have any obligations, dutys or responsibilties if I join? What sort of opportunities will there be for advancement within the empire? Whats an empire?

Dont you just love it when that happens. You spend a while writing a post and someone else has posted pretty much all the advice you've given in a more succinct and and understandable form. Oh well, 2 people say it now it must be true.

There were a few posts about this a month or so ago, I will attempt to recall the salient points and some things that helped me. I think one of the main things to remember with the Dreadlords, is to build lots of small ships rather than a few big ones. 2 Lasers (or a plasma) and 2 of the best engines you've got on a tiny hull, put them in to the biggest fleet you can manage and your away. A fleet of 6 or 7 will kill the biggest things they can throw at you. Expect to lose 1 possibly 2 every

Yes multiple economic starbases stack. The Trade modules increase the value of the trade while the mini-freighter is inside their sphere of influence. And again they stack.
