I bought Megastructures on Epic a few hours ago but cannot see any evidence that this DLC is active. How can I tell before investing hours into the game? I don't see them on the research map either. Thanks!

My game was freezing almost every turn, then I read this and got opt-in (and updated video driver) and now it is "only" freezing once every 10 turns. Better, but far from perfect. I have set auto-save at every turn now because I hate re-doing turns.
"I believe that SD has indicated that the AI uses "best" algorithms already at Challenging" I stand corrected, you are absolutely right! That's what it says. But something different is going on at the ridiculous level with the AI - it is much more aggressive. Perhaps it is a result of it's feeling of overall superiority when it encounters my puny empire. I get hit with 500HP armie
just hope you find a setting between "expert" and "ridiculous" for the opponent AI intelligence. At "expert" level" I win 99% of the time, but lose 99% of the time at "ridiculous" (to be honest, it is 100% loss rate). Does the AI have to get BOTH better algorithms AND more HP and economic advantages? g
Hmmm, actually there may be a tribute in effect - although I don't recall agreeing/asking for one. So, if there is a tribute - you can't declare war? Damn. thanks for the info anyhow.
I have been playing Elemental since the beginning, and I have to admit is getting more and more enjoyable. My major complaint now would be the AI, I find that it doesn't develop resources within its borders and it too readily accepts/offers peace treaties when it should finish the job (and knock me off). I find it relatively easy to win(at hard+ settings) just by building my economy and avoiding wars. One small suggestion - would be to allow the player to
I second many of the comments already mentioned, but the one AI issue that stands out for me is the other factions' passivity. Maybe it is my charming personality, but as long as I don't do something extremely aggressive the AIs seem to watch /allow me to get stronger and stronger - and then they offer me money! I just finished playing "hard" world" with "hard" intelligences of AISs and the same happened. boring.
By mistake I clicked the EXPLORE button for my monarch, and now he won't stop exploring whenever he has a chance. If I manually direct him to another square, he will move in that direction for one turn, but on the next - off he goes exploring again. And he does not show up in the queue of unmoved units, so if you think he is going to the assigned destination - you will be disappointed. I have tried rehitting the EXPLORE button and trying the GUARD button, to no
I play challenging/hard and have won with all the other sovs, but I just can 't get Queen P to the finish line. I blame it primarily on her lack of the "fire" mage abil;ity, which allows the others a nice offensive and defensive tool in one. This is especially important in the beginning game when there are all sorts of creatures roaming around. Or maybe its just my game play, or something else. Anyhow, my proposal is to allow this Summoner to s
Winnihym, I'm with you. I think stability should be the primary focus of the developers, and so do others. A significant portion of the surveyed voted for this, and I would imagine the beta testers are more computer aware and hardware endowed then the general gaming populace. The point being that FE would have major stability complaints in the marketplace. Anyhow, my current game is set on ridiculous (well above Normal AI) and I turned the particle effects off - it ju
I voted for stability, if you can't play the game the other factors aren't important! If stability was not an issue though, then I would have voted for AI improvement. g
One Lion, (The best thing you can do is go get those crash reports and post them in the support forum (labeled [Crash]) or send them to stardock via mail, this way they can fix it.) thanks, but it is my understandinmg that the reports are sent automatically. If anybody from Stardock wants anything more, I'm happy to supply it As for race differentiation, just off the top of my head - look at the two classics - MOM or MOO. You would never mistake the Al
"For most people, stability hasn’t been a major issue." Well, I'm glad to hear that most people don't have a problem with stability, but I do. The game crashes often, mostly in battles or reloads. I have updated my video driver. What else can I do to minimize crashes? Windows 7 premium, i7-920, 12 gb ram, 100gb free memory, and a Radeon 4850 (1GB)
My computer has been hard to start-up over the past few days, it takes 10-15 minutes (instead of 2) after logging into Windows 7 before I can do anything (like start up IE or Outlook). Upon further investigation it appears that svchost is busy with housekeeping - especially with FallenEntrantress files. This is a real world problem. g ps I have an HP i7-920 with 12g ram and over 100MB spare on both drives.
I'm in season 261 on a large map with the diufficulty set at challenging. If I have to reload for any reason the game freezes, and in any case the unit movements are shaky. g
Lots of positives (larger battlefield, interesting maps, distribution of champions, graphics, etc..), but BUGS: - Game does not reload correctly sometimes. Graphics are missing. Especially noticed in early game and with quick saves. Now I save everything manually. - Game still freezes occasionally and has to be restarted. Happens mostly on reload. - I also get strange messages from other players talking about -
I would also like a next unit key. I can't document it, but I feel the TAB key misses units sometimes, and it certainly doesn't go to the same units that the PASS button takes you to - and they are supposed to be identical. g
0.85 is available
I was thinking that the weapons/armor upgrades would take place immediately - upon payment of money/resources. For example, basically all you're doing is replacing a leather glove with a metal one - what kind of training is necessary? I also would think the combining of units would take place immediately, and there would also be some cost to standardize their equipment. You have an extra cost here also, as you lose one man when combining parties or groups
Also thanks for the heads-up! I hadn't updated my Radeon driver recently, and woo-hee! - the late game crashes have stopped! Thanks again. g
Perhaps it is too late for .80, but I would love to see the unit upgrade system improved and expanded. I would like to be able to upgrade individual units to the latest weapons and armor, at a reasonable cost. I would also like to be able to combine smaller units into larger ones, for example 2 parties = 1 group, 2 groups = 1 company, etc. As it stands now, we have to discard well experienced troops as technology prog
I think this has already been reported as an issue, but I thought I should add my own observation/experience; In the mid to late game I start getting OOM crashes and restarting the computer helps somewhat. I have 12 GB memory installed, but as the memory usage approaches 6 GB it will frequently crash. I can just sit there and watch the memory usage climb second-by-second on Task Manager at this stage of the game. What is th
Totally agree with Rishkith, and don't forget there are just as many non-productive posts now whinging for the new patch as there would be complaints about the new patch - so the distraction level wouldn't change.
Just an update, which I kind of feel obligated to make as a beta user/tester; - On my computer (i7-920, 12 GB mem) I get many battle freezes later in the game, I attribute it to the multitude of units/spells/abilities in the battle. According to Task Manager the game is still running, but nothing happens. This has happened in several different games, but seems more prevalent in one game over another (again perhps due to the unigue spells in use
I'm not going to talk about the gameplay except to say I think th egame starts too slow, research (even at fast) is too slow and it ends too fast - once you have the lead - the AIs can't keep up. Starting positions are sometimes good, often very bad. 1. Victory Conditions: Should allow a % (of land, pop, might) victory condition too avoid extensive end game mopping up activities. 2. Game come to a stansstill if "Maul" is used in battle. 3.
