Plop2, No, it's not something I'm doing. Read the article in the link. In the case of the 20Gig, I'm talking about hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of thumbnails.

Odds are that he will need to re-format the system (IMO). Not sure if the utilites at bootdisk.com will allow access to the NTFS partition from DOS (didn't look that hard at the site).
