I would also add that being a Elemental Army recruit does not require you to preorder, or beta test. Just share your love of the game with others. Hell share your issues as well. This army promotion here is more along the lines of a three fold multi-staged attack. 1. Reward fans for participating, and doing what they already were doing. 2. Generate buzz and awareness as people who care, share their personal experiences with others. 3. And to get folks t

And it would make sense, and oh, probably keep people from essentially wasting our collective time trying to go by the rules as written. All of my diggs(pre 9th) that were rejected did get "out of date" as the reason. Go recheck, calm down, and breathe. I hear you Zampolit, but my were not noted for that. And the base

Alright, this was a good primer post about what's In, and what's not in. My first observations. Great, it'll be going live just as I get off my vacation. Irony is full of that! *Grin* (Though to me, it's not a problem, I've had a decent vacation.) Next, I found myself thinking out loud. Beware the consequences of "Armies are not Stacks". But I feel I think I understand the significance of that statement. When you form an army, it becomes o

I like this take on the effects of a war. Long wars of attrition, do affect the morale of the fighting forces. (Well that and in the real world idiotic leadership, ordering things because they can, though not because it's a needed goal or actual necessity. In this case I would reference the great HBO Series Generation Kill, as it's based on the article published by the Rolling Stones Journalist.) Now that all said, I think for a future expansion for morale, it could be something that

I've heard Brad talk about Steam in the past, and discuss the merits and lack thereof. While I do like Steam, as a tool. If Impulse has the same price point as Steam, I've still gone with Steam. Just being honest. That said, I do prefer the ethical side of Stardock. And can't even see the remote need for them to branch out into the alternative distribution sites. Just doesn't make any solid business sense. I guess it's a good question, as it got Brad to respond. It just would

Well one brush fire put out. A sticky like this is going to get a decent amount of traffic, being up at the top. And now I'm going to get some sleep, us 3rd shifters need to do that sometimes! I hope you all have a great day!

Hence, the comment about the old hands, and new ones. I did read the Elemental FAQ for dummies, but still didn't see it, until I did a ctrl+F to find it. And a few months ago, I didn't see Brad mention it. I think that calling attention to it is useful. Because maybe.. others missed it as well. Or further, maybe they've missed some other key piece of information, that is obvious to some. But not obviously to them, till found later.

I would have to say, one thing I learned as this thread prompted me to find it. 224x160 is the tile size for this game, which compared to Civ IV 104x64 is just a mammoth beast. That said, I don't know if the campaign (Single Player) will be more advanced larger drilled down focus on the region, or be more abstract and pulled out with that above map fitting in the 224x160 or not. That'll be answered later on. But this should be a fun ride.

[quote who="Kestral2040" reply="44" id="2646566"] It sounds like your Digg submissions were rejected because of some confusion on how they were linked, the system is designed so that if something is rejected it can be re-evaluated and we will look at them again and award points where they are deserved. Thanks for bringing it to our attention, remember there are a lot of submissions so there will be mistakes from time to time but they can be fixed. &nbsp

What in the nine hells am I talking about. Well the link http://www.giantbomb.com/elemental-war-of-magic/61-24369/ Was posted as a Unique Promotion. What did it do you ask? Well, when I clicked on it and glanced over it, I found myself getting questions that were sitting in the back of my mind. Well answered. The part about world size 224x160 tiles. Was clearly right there, at the bottom

I'm really also looking forward to this path of the process. And what it all entails. More on how the implementation will work, and how expansive dungeons will turn out being. Like the sovereign going on dungeon raids as it were, finding ancient lost whatevers... And then see if there would be some tactical combats against various denizens of those lairs. And so on. And if we'll be able to bind a few "adventurers" to a band and have them adventure together, exploring the

And this is part of the marketing campaign, building viable hype before it goes live. But Stardock has always been very honest and upfront about all of this. So if they said they were doing this to reward the fans, and in a sense help build hype. That I believe. Brad Wardell i

I really can say Fallout 1, is one of my All time favorite games. Fallout 2, was a fantastic continuation of the series. Both were just great games, (though not with their .. ahem bugs). As far as Fallout 3, I've not completed it due to graphics glitch, and a bit of boredom. But that being said, I think it's a wonderful game for what it is, an artists recreation of a beloved series in a different perspective. Different, with it's own very strong gotcha moments.
