Black Knight
the booskin site used to have links to older versions with instructions on how to "downgrade" I just got a new video card and boot skin is giving me bluescreens now so i wanted to try older versions, but can't find them. Anyone know were they might be along with the old insturctions? Thanks Jose
Is anyone having trouble installing DTX using stardock central lately? I have been trying to get it installed on my laptop and the progress bar just says its downloading and downloading hitting 100% several times always downloading dx.sdc. Am I doing something wrong? Jose
email stardock sales, they should be able to help you
Wow I would have never found that! Thanks Scott.
BTW I'm using build 731
Dear Scott how do you get to the advanced theme editor? I can't find how to do that anywhare Jose
hmm I don't think that works on popup menus. Unless I'm missing something. It works for everything else except popup menus. Jose
Well I just downloaded the newest OB, which in the news section is being touted as an RC and you still can not add icons to sub Menus. This is a feature that was in the 1.65 version, so I had hoped that it would come back. Does anyone know if this feature will be reinstated prior to the actual 2.0 version? Jose
its kinf of a pain, but you can edit the parent bar ini file directly and add in the missing icon reference. it doesn't always work, but right now its the only way that I've found to get the icons back. I hope they bring this functionality back soon, I really liked it in the older versions Jose
Hmm I had to reinstall it, (uninstall and reinstall) and reboot before the problem was fixed. I wonder what messed it up in the first place, even the menu was different
is it normal that the option "configure virtual desktop" is greyed out .. So I'm not the only one who can't configure this anymore, does anyone know what went wrong, and how to fix it?
sorry, the computer is a Toshiba laptop5105-s702, 1.8GhZ, 512 meg ram, nvidia 440 32 meg video, xp pro SP2. Asside from OB I am running DX on it with two small widgets, nothing complicated, one shows picts and the other loads a program when you click on it Thanks
Hi has anyone had any trouble with OB freezing there computer. I installed it on my toshiba laptop and after running it for a while it seems to freeze my computer pretty regularly. Is there anything I should do to figure out why it freezing?
All I wanted was a small object to toggle altdesk on and off. you can set altdesk to toggle on and off by using hotkeys so i wanted to simulate the hotkeys. What I did to get around the key issue is to change the hotkeys for altdesk to someting easier to send
Sorry I should have been more specific, what I want to send is "{win}a", ^{esc} is the windows key, but it does not look like you can combine it with anything. Or at least ctrl-esc from the keyboard does not let you add the "a" after it, so I'm still stuck, but thanks for the sugestion
Does anyone know how to send the Windows key to an application using DX? I've tried using {lwin} and {rwin} but they don't seem to be supported. thanks in advance for any help
Thanks for the link I just added it to my bookmarks
Well I desided to first try and use the code snippit with the web browser as the holder for the image. First the code snippit worked fantastic! The problems that I had were with timming, finally got it all worked out, and now it works grea1! just point the code to a folder with images and the picture changes every 20 min and I am not using my webserver. Thanks Tiggz for the help <img src="http:
hmm which version of dx are you using? I have 2.19a installed and object.picture is not supported yet. is it in the 2.19h version? I hd not updated yet because I had had alot of trouble with some of the eariler beta builds and so was waiting for some of the bugs to get worked out more. In any event I will still give the other code a try later on. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" b
Cool I didn't realize that such an object existed, and thanks for the code snipit. I'll give it a try and report back on the results
HI all, I made my own "picture frame" after lookint at "newlandframes" and realizing that what he was doing was using IE and rendering a webpage on the fly to hold the reference to the image. Really very cool. But what I wanted was a picture frame that would load pictures at random from a folder. Well what I ended up with does just that, you point it to a folder and every 20 minutes it will load a new image from the list of images. Here is my problem, To do this I took ad
Thanks ChasUGC. I think that since it si running well I'll just leave it a lone at the moment.
opps never said what os i was running, its xp pro sp1
it not that my system is running slow or anyting, infact it seems to run just fine with DX, i just noticed that dx uses about 18meg of memory, which seemed like a lot to me. more just wonding what other folk are using in the way of memory then anything else. Juat a point of reference, I have a weather object, a calendar object, 5 "icon" objects, and a single "living" (it a character that my daughter drew and I animated). Also incase anyone was wondering my spects: AMD XP 28
