I have attempted to hack the .cpl files without success. I can replace the icon resource successfully, but when I re-login to the computer, the icon has reverted back to default. The .cpl files reside in three places, which I successfully changed, but the one I want chaged, keeps resetting to default. This is getting very frustrating, so any help would be appreciated!!
When I apply a custom icon package - specifically one that I have created, it applies just fine, but when I restart my machine, explorer.exe crashes and restarts, and keeps looping. Once I reset the package to Windows default, it behaves just fine. I have loaded packages from the website, which load just fine. Does anybody know what is causing exploder to become unhappy? Is it something simple like all the icons have to be the same size? Is there a size limit?
Does anyone know how to change the default Windows XP 32X32 icons to 48X48? I know how to change the Start Menu and Desktop, but I would like to change the Windows Folders & Files icons. Is there a registry tweak I can do? Or is the icon size hardcoded into the shell?
I have a laptop and a second monitor at work, so I use Ultramon. When I am not at work however, I use just my laptop. I have my Ultramon set to use only a single monitor when the second monitor is not connected. All of my programs behave normally, except Object Edit. For some reason it still thinks there is a second monitor, and will not show up on my main screen no matter what I do. I have tried stopping Ultramon, changing all of the settings, etc. Nothing seems to work. Any ideas?? Much apprec
