Unless Microsoft and Stardock worked together to allow Stardock tapping into the milcore APIs (where all the potential goodies are) and using those to create all kinds of cool animation stuff you're not going to see anything "impressive". Its sad that Vista holds such great potential under the hood and noone is able to use that (and forget Beryl: Vista's effects would be far more sophisticated and of greater visual quality than anything Beryl could offer at present)... Damned shame.

I can't wait for it. I've been talking to some Vista developers and they virtually promised they would deal with stupid, ugly and out of place GDI drawn menu drop shadows and have DWM handle them but obviously that worked out as said... I hope a greater level of control would be added to WindowFX such as a tool for adding custom window classes - which by default do not get shadowed by WindowFX - to a user defined list (for example Firefox menus do not get shadows from WinFX) or excluding windows

Latest drivers are your enemy. I've tried with that and then reverted way back to catalyst 4.x or something and it worked fine. So try digging those old Catalysts up and giving them a shot. There must be something about the recent or at least latest version of catalyst that Windowsblinds dislikes and doesn't recognize as "per pixel capable". Stardock people should have noticed that.
