Cheats are a nesscessary tool for modding and development...

The GCII team has a point when they stop events after you choose an alignment - You logicaly allways choose the alignment you have. However I agree that events should still happen - And perhaps give a chance to change allignment while you are at it. Now I'm sure people might use that ability to get all of the allignment supertechs - So just use some good old Deus Ex Machina - Morality riots destroy the buildings in the name of x alignment.
Perhaps cosmetic mods should be the only ones allowed?
I am thinking.. A minor race with incredible millitary production, Some speed and sensor bonuses coupled together with a good starting technology level and one single class 6-8 world. Oh, And they are aggressive.
Yes there was some trouble with that a few months ago, I thought they were recalled or something.. Email what you think is the serial key to Stardock and see what happens.
We allready have Research Theft, When you have Advanced level of intel. on an enemy, There is a small chance that you (working with a minor race) steal all of their tech.
Nah, Its just unrealistic to the average user.
Allways look before you leap, Allways check before you click.. A lesson that can be applied in real life as well!
Against my expectations, Those ideas sound pretty good! Stealing all the cash from a trade route sounds a little harsh at first, But it could work out to be like diverting the goods to you.. The idea of Space Marines also sounds rather good, Starbases by their very nature have a large population and the mining bases and millitary would definatly have self defence as a high interest, But I cannot see people being very happy about Starbases having an official populatio
From what I can gather, You brought it retail, If you still have the receipt then go back to the shop and either ask for a refund or a hand with finding the serial number. Ask nicely. In any case the game does not need a serial number to install from CD - You just wont get the benifits of the updates.
I cant see that thing sitting down and doing a Podcast each week...
Try credit card, Or email the support crew at Stardock
Nah, When you trade a variety of goods to an alien race, You still keep the bonuses, But the other guys also get the bonuses as well.
In that case it must have something to do with an old file that is not updated with the patch...
Playing the alternative campaign mission from the first one (Desperate Ally) and I move my cursor over the nearest planet..and: A quick addition to that: It appears that everything other than the ships show up as "String not found" If requested I will email the save file.
Yep. From what I gather, Stardock are planning to open-source it (And subsequently make it totally free), But seeing as nothing has happened with it for ages - I guess its low priority to them.
Well, Dont assume that the A.I Acts entirely like you - They may be building cultural buildings on their planets to prevent a culturevictory from occurring.
I doubt it, Just because you are having a good time with everyone else does not mean that the rest of the galaxy does not hate each other.
Diplomatic victories are not at all easy to get on higher difficulty settings, Seeing as the enemy outbuilds you, outtechs you and outdoes you in every way they look down upon you, And it can be real hard to get Diplo-Vics if you dont get off to a good start.
The 3D playing grid is impractical, It would create another game alltoghether. Anyhow, To continue the idea of UI tweaks, Perhaps have the planetary defence shield icon appear more tough based on how strong the orbiting ships are? So a really strong planet might have a golden shield with orbiting balls, And a weak one might appear to be a tarnished form of the current one?
I think that events should be "weighted" according to how much of an impact they made on the game, So a few skirmishes over the course over three years would be written pretty much like that, However the defeat of the orbital defence fleet around planet Kona should be a major.
i've got 256 mb and it runs fine... Same here, Only with 512MB Your graphic cards memory will play a huge part in it too.
I guess I would, I'm just not sure how popular the MP feature would be, And it would be a dissapointment for me to spend $35 (In NZD) on something that would not be used by others.
Speaking of which...why havn't i seen a black hole yet? i've seen Wormholes....and 'other' holes, but no blackholes....i miss them Come on, How many exploration teams do you think would be eager to hop into a black hole? I cannot think of any positive reason for their presence on the
