Sounds weird, maybe you should try plugging the network card into another PCMIA slot of your laptop and downloading the latest drivers. Anyway if that doesn't work then you can just show off to your friends on how fast your new prototype network is.
LCD monitors are good but I think that CRT monitors are actually the best at gaming. They have a nice grey-tone color reproduction and they don't ghost at much. But the primary reason while a CRT might be better is because you said you are a gamer. I guess the tune depends on the manufacturer and version of the BIOS you have. Maybe your BIOS likes your harddrive and sings a merry tune to it.
maybe you should look to see if the floppy IDE cable is hooked up properly. Also check if the floppy power cable is plugged in the right way(cause its really easy to plug it incorrectly). If that doesn't work, I dont know guess you should go to www.newegg.com or something
Can somebody make an Apple iPulse sorta meter either as a widget or sysmetrix object? I really liked the ipulse meter on the Macs that I see at electronic stores.
