[quote]I have added the details for an issue to the MainIssues.PM2IssuesXML file, but the issue does not appear in the game.Well, you need to make sure you are modifying the right file. You most likely modified the file located at "The Political Machine 2008\Data\English\Issues\MainIssues.PM2IssuesXML". At one point during development, the game did use that file. But then we created multiple scenarios and wanted each scenario to have its own unique issues. As an example, we wouldn't want "Slave
Great, thanks.
I have added the details for an issue to the MainIssues.PM2IssuesXML file, but the issue does not appear in the game. Does the issue need to be added into other files? Or is there no way to do this?
Is there any chance of having three possible candidates in a single game, one for each party and the Independent? Also, for my "independent" scenarios, I went with the Green Party vs. Republican and Libertarian vs. Democratic, and changed each parties' colors.
Well, I fixed this error myself, the new update did not do it, though. I had to completely uninstall my graphics driver, download a .zip file of the newest driver, install the new driver, and restart. My laptop had a specifically validated graphics driver, and that was why I was unable to update the driver in the usual way. I used this site for help: http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-022355.htm
After the Vs. screen, the game will go to a flickering black screen, then the PC will crash and go to a blue screen. Wooo.... I beat Washington yesterday with John Kerry and JFK 278-260.
Man, I lost to him three more times, the last time was by 10 EVs.
Actually, just open up MS Paint, paste the image and crop it to how you want it. Then just click Save As.. and then click the drop down arrow and select save as .PNG
Maybe use one of the Interview Program Hosts project the election results per state, descending from the largest precent victory to the least. Such as "Barry King Lives projects John Kerry to win Massachusetts" and "Barry King Live projects George W. Bush to win Texas" and ending with the battlegrounds states such as this year with OH, NM, and NV.
I created a lot of candidates yesterday, I'd have to get them from my other PC. I think I forgot LBJ, is he already on the game? (I haven't played in the Democratic Scenario yet)
I was messing around with the file and trying to edit the issues, but it didn't work. If anyone could send me the mainissues.issues file to [email protected] , I would greatly appreciate it.
I fixed my problem, John McCain was causing the error. I've added a new pic for each candidate except for Mason and Forbes. I added Bayh, Dean, Blagojevich, Daley, Durbin, Corzine, JFK, Bradley, Daschle, Truman, Ashcroft, Rumsfeld, Powell, Frist, Giuliani, Jeb Bush, Pataki, Eisenhower, Quatle, Ventura, Nader, Buchanan, Badnarik, Obama, McCain, and osama. i'm in need of the mainissues.issues file. I
You can modify the electoral numbers. Open up CoreMps.PolMap in Notepad.
I made almost 25 Candidates, and i noticed that some aren't on the list. Also, since I edit some Candidates the "Dem/Rep from This State" does not show the state. When I tried to continue my saved game it exited to the desktop.
Correct, but many also would be happy seeing the 22nd Amendment amended; the most likely if it was amended would allow a President to serve only two consecutive terms but seek to return after a respite. That means Mr. BUSH could not run in '08. YEAH! Yeah, but even the thought of him being able to stea
I love Bill Clinton, but retracting the 22nd amendment would mean Bushy would also be eligible, something I do not want. I think that if they went head to head 16 years in a row, Clinton would defeat Bushy easily. But anyways how about.... MICHAEL MOORE for PRESIDENT in 2008.
I didn't want to cheat to beat him, has anyone beat him?
I've lost to him at least five times now, I need a little help on how to beat him. I'm using John Kerry. The closest I've come to winning was having 197 electoral votes.
Anyone else have luck beating Washington yet? I've lost to him at least five times already, the closest I've come was losing by 73 electoral votes.
Well, luckily I have another computer that this game runs on. I'm at George Washington with John Kerry.
Any new updates on this problem? I was able to play this game on another PC, I'm up to Lincoln now and have not lost yet with Kerry. My closest game was against Arnold, which I only beat him by 2 votes (Came down to Hawaii.)
Interviews are random, they are the video camera icons that appear in a certain states (I found that it is usually a state that is in favor of the other party or a split state) They only last one turn then disappear. To access it, fly to that state (Blue camera for Democrat and Red camera for Republican) and a screen should pop up asking you to accept the interview or not. This game doesn't work on this computer, but I played it this weekend and it was
I have everything updated, but it still doesn't work.
