This is all very helpful, thanks. I do know this about sounds--In most not for profit environments [my experience is in theatre as an actor and designer] if the clip is less than twenty seconds and no specific charge is being made for the material a royalty and permission are not required. Certainly all the sound clips are well under twenty seconds, but I'll try to keep the whole scheme under that just to be safe. Logic would also seem to di

Thanks! Just downloaded and used it. Easy. Works as advertised!
That's great! thanks for the tip. It raises a new question though. Am I out of the woods if I don't use a progress bar? Thanks Again, Citizen Actmeister
I've made a hobby out of creating logon screens and wallpapers for movies I like. I use promotional photos from the films that are freely available on the internet and carry no watermark or other indication of limited use. These are usually released by the studios that make the films. I use photoshop elements to blend and modify them to fit the overall theme. I also make sound schemes from my DVD's. [HAL, etc.] My Question: Do I
This is a great program. But when I try to create my own Bootskins, using Photoshop Elements 2.0 I have a problem with color inversion. The bootskin preview looks fine, but the actual bootskin looks like a color negative. I thought maybe it was just me, but I downloaded a bootskin that did the same thing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Citizen Actmeister
I've had some luck with changing the background color. Even though it isn't seen with an image in front of it. It appears to have an impact on what's in front. Regards, Citizen Actmeister
I would like to know what version would allow me to make stand alone desktops [exe files] and what it costs. Your e-mail didn't provide that information, so I can't make any kind of cost comparison. Thanks, Actmeister
This is the beginning of the end for Apple as a computer maker. Once the make os is ported to the intel platform, it will be the obvious alternative to winblows. But if they eventually sell the operating system for any x86 it will cut so deeply into sales that they might is well get out of the Mac biz. On the other hand, they would likely make a lot more profit from the operating system then they do from computers. And kona0197 is right. AMD
Thanks, XP Meisters, your suggestions were spot-on! I did an edit/find on LocalizedString in HKEYROOT/CLSID and changed each one I wanted to change. By the way you don't have to re-boot, just re-load Desktop X . Thanks Again, Actmeister
THANK YOU! That worked perfectly. I had just dumped Norton because it was causing other problems, but clearly the damage had been done. Thanks again, Actmeister
Hi, experts! I prefer to control my own desktop, hence my recent purchase of Object Desktop. One of my projects was to re-write portions of my MUI Cache to change the names of such items and the Recycle Bin [Official Trashy Thing] etc. It works fine but windows regularly changes it back to the default and I have to reload my version. Does anyone know a way to turn off what I assume is a script? If not how would I write a script to counter this so
I have a similar problem. I am getting "dxwidget.exe has encountered a problem" etc. every time I try to launch dx3. I just bought the product about a week ago, and it worked great at first. Any thoughts? Deleting the desktop X cache directory didn't work. Thanks, Actmeister
I just purchased object desktop and everything was going well until I accidently updated my registry with an old file. Now Desktop X crashes every time it tries to load. I figured I would uninstall then reinstall, but I can't find a way to do that. Can we say bummed? Thanks in advance for any help. Actmeister
