Is there a patch note of the summer update ? I'd like to be able to pinpoint the balance changes.

Thanks a lot for any answer.

Quoting AntimatterHiccup,

Yes, good to know! Wish I had known about that sooner. Not sure why customer support never mentioned that. Since I had some Epic Rewards I bought the Content Pass through Epic already. Any chance I can port my Epic Games SOSE II: Content Pass over to steam as well?

It's not clear to me, but when you port your Epic Games edition over to Steam, there is a link to buy the Content Pass through that porting website. I think that is the way to get the Content Pass on Steam right now, as no DLC or add-ons are listed in the steam store.

At the porting website it should be a steam key you get. So you can just redeem it on steam

I was able to use the porting website, and I did receive a key that worked. However, like others, I'm not sure if that key includes the Content Pass I purchased at Epic Games Store. When redeeming on steam, it appears to just be the base game, and not the premium version, which would include the content pass.

Quoting AntimatterHiccup,

Chatted with Epic Games customer support, and early adopters can buy the SOSE II: Content Pass add-on, which will upgrade your base game to premium. Unfortunately, they would not budge one inch about providing a discount for early adopters.

Just plain dirty.  Next time waiting for steam. What was the benefit to early access and being on epic?  No one wanted to be on Epic, and one of the only benefits to it was the possibility to savings being passed down.  Not here. Rather valve get the 30% honestly if the gouging starts this early.

Not sure how I really feel on it yet.  I would refund if I could, don't think I can though...cause Epic.

I should point out that I contacted Epic Games support first and they are the ones that wouldn't give any kind of discount, and failed to inform me of the various other options, or that key-transport was an option.

The stardock support team I feel like is doing a much better job. Hopefully they'll clarify the Epic Content Pass to Steam options here.

Available on GOG

I'm not familiar with GOG. I checked them out, and it sounds like a great alternative to Steam, Stardock could definitely distribute they content through them as well.

Here is what I found out... from chatting with customer support reading the FAQ, and checking out discord.

You'll find many answers to your questions here: https://www.sinsofasolarempire2.com/faq

What does Content Pass include?

The faq points to a Purchase Options Chart, but it's unclear what is available now and what will be available later. All it says is: "DLC content will be released in the future as they become available". So it's essentially just a pre-purchase, at a discount. I'm sure we'll learn more in the coming weeks.

It does appear that at least Base + Content Pass = Premium.

Steam Content Pass

Since the Content Pass is not available in Steam, the Premium and Content Pass Epic game purchase won't transfer to Steam. At least not until they are released, but I haven't confirmed that it will. The faq only says it's not on option.

If you want the Content Pass on Steam, you need to buy it through https://www.sinsofasolarempire2.com/store or wait till it's released on Steam.

Early adopters, discounts

Early adopters, don't get any kind of extra discount or coupons, but it's only a couple more dollars to buy the Content Pass than if you had just waited and bought premium.

Hope this helps, and happy gaming! 🚀

So I did the thing (Key Transport). Worked without a hitch. My Sins 2 is now registered on Steam. Thanks for making this available.  All in all nice job people.

Just in case, for any of you wondering, the content pass will not be transferred, not now, not ever, so it seems, this is a dev's reply:

I received and transferred the key from Epic Games to Steam, activated it, thank you very much, a very noble act on the part of the company, but I have 2 questions

1-Is the game always available on Steam? Perhaps the translator incorrectly translated the page into my language, but it says that the keys expire on September 15th.

2. Will anything happen to the license at Epic Games? Will it disappear or will it still remain on the account?

Thank you for your time

The page should still be up.

I'm just wondering, for those of us on steam who bought the base game, can we upgrade later to the premium version later?

Just wanted to say that benefit to early access was basically that - having the chance to play the game from its early stages and bring any potential grievances you might have with it to devs on Discord and discuss it there. In many cases they would actually take that into account.

I think devs benefit more from early access. Either way, they provided stream key transfer. Am happy and loving the game.
