Empires will rise and fall as Sins of a Solar Empire II is now available to purchase on Steam. The base game edition is available at a special discount price of $39.99 on both Steam and the Epic Games Store for a limited time. Additionally, the Sins of a Solar Empire II - Premium Edition is available for a limited-time price of $79.99 and includes the base game, first Content Pass and the Sins of a Solar Empire II soundtrack (see image below).

The sequel to the iconic Sins of a Solar Empire, a classic strategy title known for masterfully blending real-time and 4X strategy gameplay, Sins of a Solar Empire II boasts a new engine that allows for even more epic space battles, larger sprawling empires, and signature unforgettable Sins moments.

“From multiple races to emergent tactics to a detailed galaxy simulation system, we’re giving our community multiple ways to conquer the galaxy in Sins of a Solar Empire II,” said Brian Clair, director of publishing, Stardock Entertainment. “With today’s launch on Steam, and all these updates available to our Epic Games Store users as well, we’re looking forward to supporting our fans with even more great DLC content and the release of our Mod Tools and Mod Browser to see what our community does with this next evolution in the Sins franchise.”

Sins of a Solar Empire II features gameplay enhancements that let players take full control of how they conquer the galaxy. Emergent tactics like protecting vulnerable units from missile strikes with Titan ships, or launching surprise ambushes using the dynamically changing orbits of planets are now possible. Sins of a Solar Empire II will reward players for creative thinking, effective use of economic systems, and making convenient allies as they take over the galaxy.

Epic Game Store owners of Sins of a Solar Empire II have a massive update waiting for them in their account and will receive all current and future updates coming to the game alongside Steam players.

I just purchased the game on Steam :)

Oh I didn't realize there was a Premium edition. I didn't see it on Steam, or I wasn't looking hard enough to see it.

Do players who early accessed on EPIC need to buy an additional full price Premium-Edition? I can´t find an upgrade.

Chatted with Epic Games customer support, and early adopters can buy the SOSE II: Content Pass add-on, which will upgrade your base game to premium. Unfortunately, they would not budge one inch about providing a discount for early adopters.

Just plain dirty.  Next time waiting for steam. What was the benefit to early access and being on epic?  No one wanted to be on Epic, and one of the only benefits to it was the possibility to savings being passed down.  Not here. Rather valve get the 30% honestly if the gouging starts this early.

Not sure how I really feel on it yet.  I would refund if I could, don't think I can though...cause Epic.

It unlocks the DLC as it becomes available, it should be already installed, Ill look into how you can verify it and circle back when I have a solid answer, which may take 1-2 days

Hello! Epic's base game and Steams are currently identical, the Premium edition essentially serves as a bundle of the base game and content pass which unlocks the first wave of DLC as it becomes available (no day 1 DLC), if you are interested in the content pass, it can be found in the ad ons section of the Epic page

Discounts should currently be identical between platforms, and if you would prefer, we did manage to set up a key transfer system here: https://www.sinsofasolarempire2.com/keytransport to help facilitate early adopters

They offer a key migration to Steam. Makes me happy.

What is the best way to get the premium edition for epic early access buyers who want to transfer to steam?

That's true.  There's no Upgrade DLC there that I can see.

Yes, good to know! Wish I had known about that sooner. Not sure why customer support never mentioned that. Since I had some Epic Rewards I bought the Content Pass through Epic already. Any chance I can port my Epic Games SOSE II: Content Pass over to steam as well?

It's not clear to me, but when you port your Epic Games edition over to Steam, there is a link to buy the Content Pass through that porting website. I think that is the way to get the Content Pass on Steam right now, as no DLC or add-ons are listed in the steam store.

At the porting website it should be a steam key you get. So you can just redeem it on steam

I bought the early adopter edition in Epic, I also bought the DLC to upgrade it to premium (which I don't see by the way, guessing because is not out yet?) and then I submitted my key to steam, I wanted to confirm if the DLC I bought in Epic will be transferred to steam as well as soon as it's available

On the transfer page there's a link afterwards to purchase the upgrade directly via stardock.  Just did it and it gave me a steam key.
