Try the DeskScapes 10 Beta Now
Stardock is pleased to announce a major new version of DeskScapes
Personalize your desktop wallpaper with animations, pictures and video.

The new version includes updates based on customer feedback such as:

  • A new wallpaper manager, complete with the ability to mark “favorite” backgrounds, as well as modifying and saving both static and animated wallpapers.
  • Seamless WinCustomize library integration allows direct browsing and downloading of backgrounds from within the application.
  • Comes in light and dark theme modes to suit your personal tastes.
  • Supports h264 videos with hardware accelerated decoding where possible.
  • New additional effects you can apply to static and animated wallpapers which can now easily be combined and ordered.

The DeskScapes UI has had a complete overhaul

As well as the obvious dark / light mode, the interface now splits the list in to folders allowing improved management of your backgrounds.

DeskScapes now allows you to browse the WinCustomize library directly from the app

Directly browsing the WinCustomize library from within the application puts new backgrounds a click away and offers greater exposure of new Deskscapes and wallpaper backgrounds to other users.

Apply effects and now apply more than one at once

If you've ever found yourself loading up an image into a photo editing app to tweak it to make for a better desktop background, look no further than DeskScapes 10.  The beta includes over 60 effects, along with the ability to combine multiple effects to give users the ability to turn pretty much any image or video file into a usable desktop background.

DeskScapes 10 beta is available for Object Desktop subscribers today.
A stand-alone version is expected to be released this Spring.

I have my own wall changer.

When you said your own wall changer, is that a program that control how your wallpaper display? If so, is it possible to uninstall it?

Thank you,

I did not uninstall Wallpaper Master.

Today I just installed DS 10 beta 2.

Two hiccups

1 When I want to change dreams, I have to disable to pick another.

2 When I disabe DS the desktop still appears with  a frozen image of the Dream I was running, Now all I have to do is hit WIN key + 1 and my wall is back to normal.

So far good

I can live with this since it is beta

Well since you have two wallpaper manager in one system. From what I know, there will always be possibility of conflict between them even if you have them disabled.

I have one wallpaper program. Been using it for many years without problems.

Also, had no problems with DS 8 and Wallpaper program.

I'm seeing this on Beta 2 as well (Win10 ver 1809 build 17763.379).  Wasn't seeing it on the 1st Beta, at least on my non-admin Standard user which I typically use.  Also, after disabling Deskscapes, changing the wallpaper via Explorer right-click or Personalize doesn't change the wallpaper until after logoff/login.

Admin user goes to a blank black screen similar to what was described in Reply 95, only black.  Don't really know if that was happening on Beta1.  Logging into Admin without Deskscapes enabled initially shows the wallpaper, but then after the first screen refresh, either automatic or manual, it switches to black.  Applying a wallpaper within deskscapes works, but then disabling deskscapes throws it back to black.

I'm not running any additional wallpaper managers at all, and a single monitor.

Hello,

I am going to close this thread and create a DeskScapes 10 Beta discussion:

If you have issues with the 2nd DS beta that was just released, please use that new thread.

Thanks.
