Installed new Beta, Still the taskbar buttons don't flash when receiving new msg or windows warnings like the win 10 default theme and earlier version of windowblinds. Installed on another machine and didn't work there either :(

Please check what version WindowBlinds is showing as the issue was reproduced and fixed.

Has the problem with "favorites" been fixed?

I just have to ask. Why is it all of a sudden we have to uninstall, and reboot before installing a new version of WB? We never used to, it is a pain in the rump.

Just asking?

Seems to be working well here -- Win7 x64.  Hope there are no more bugs. This installing, uninstalling, rebooting, is starting to wear me out LOL       Great job Stardock.

Because too many betas have been messed up with files not being replaced and customers therefore reporting issues which are long since fixed.

Unfortunately due to the underlying issue of the installer not replacing files in use always on some computers not being fixed I suspect the final release may well force the uninstall.

Nope, IE Favorites problem still exists and it has now expanded to start menu > favorites as well!

Reverting to 10.0.7 again.

I am afraid unless we get other reports that issue is something we stand little chance of fixing.  Tests here could reproduce it, the root issue for that was found and it was fixed and it can no longer be reproduced.

Are you running other apps like WindowFX?  They may influence it.  Note that once it happens a reboot is needed to fix it often as it is a timing bug in the OS components themselves.

As a test turn off WindowFX and reboot.  Any change?

Neil I had the black background in explorer again, but after 2 reboots everything seems fine. I'll let you know if there's any changes.

Just so I can describe what I mean as the flashing taskbar buttons. ive uploaded a small video. This used to work on old windowblinds versions. i.e before 10.07. Windows 10 theme works fine.

Have you set any settings in Classic shell to customize how the taskbar looks?

The underlying rendering issue should be fixed (error in the tile routines) so I am surprised you still had an issue even once.  You did uninstall the old, reboot and then install the new one?

Are you sure you didn't change OS in between WB versions as 10.49 should work the same as 10.07 which worked the same as 10.0

Yes. I set WB to default then. Uninstall, reboot, installed, put in my reg number. I didn't apply any skin, I closed out WB rebooted. Applied a skin (Naked Noir) and noticed the explorer background was solid white. Rebooted explorer background was black. Rebooted and everything is fine.

I'm still on the same windows 10. I have windows 10 on my laptop aswell. Windowblinds on that too and still doesn't flash the taskbar for msgs etc. Ive had to reinstall windows 10 as the anniversary update went into a boot loop. But it should still work ok I thought. Don't get it :\

Turned off Windows FX, no change. Uninstalled Windows FX and Shadow FX, rebooted, favorites worked, applied a WB skin favorites no longer work. Put default theme back on, unloaded WB, favorites do no work.

Any other suggestions?

Rebooted, favorites worked. Applied a WB skin, favorites do not work. Tried several skins same thing. I'll reboot with default theme and see what happens.

Rebooted default theme favorites worked. WB theme applied, favorites do not work, rebooted, favorites still not working. Reset to default theme again will leave it there with no WB skin applied. Please advise! WB 10.0.7 worked just fine.

did you uninstall reboot and then reinstall the new beta?

ps i would like to say the notification problem with unread messages hiding modern aps seems to be fixed.things arent hiding nomore.

kudos guys.i knew you could do it.

to other guy:hopefully your issue gets resolved.you gotta understand betas will be shaky but it has done alot of improvements that are missing from 10.0.0.7

you can eitheir wait a sec for it to get fixed or not,but one petpeeve i had with going back to 10.0.0.7 youll encounter is that was before modern apps were skinnable,so imho its not worth the downfall.perhaps you feel differently but imho aesthetically this is better and they are cracking the bugs fairly fast
