Sins: Rebellion Collector's Edition Upgade

Sins: Rebellion Collector's Edition Upgade

So I got an email about the upgrade to Sins Collector's Edition... According to the email, only 2,600 are available... and the price of the "upgrage" is $69.99 plus S/H.

I already own Rebellion on steam. Does it mean that I still have to pay $69.99 plus S/H for a toy and dog tags?

Check out what’s included below:

  • Painted Kol Battleship Model
  • Set of Rebellion dog tags
  • Metal imaged mouse pad with Rebellion artwork
  • Steelbook DVD Case with game DVD and 2 music CDs
  • Two 18x26" Rebellion posters

https://www.sinsofasolarempire.com/collectorsedition?ref=sinscollectm1_topheaderimg

I checked and after taxes and shipping, the so-called "upgrade" will come to roughly $109...

Now I would be happy to own this stuff, but for at least 2x cheaper... considering I already own the game and all previous sins games.

Zomg....I have the game already and played it in beta.

So can someone boil this down for me?  I want the collectors edition stuff like the battleship and all that, but I already have the game.  What do i do to get the ancillary stuff, and what will the cost be?

This is an upgrade to the game.  It does not include another game code.

Yea so shipping to Canada is 50$ whereas I can have my friend ship it to himself then to me for a total cost of 20$.

You guys can do better for your international customers.

As someone who has bought MANY collectors editions (got the halo reach CE, skyrim CE, assassins creed 2 CE, strarcraft 2 CE and even diablo 3 CE, mass effect 3 CE just to name a few of them) and as someone who pre-ordered rebellion (man I love all the changes and updates to the game by the way) I do feel like this is kind of expensive as a post launch CE that still has the game that we already own in it was a bad choice, especially since this was sent out to people who had pre-ordered rebellion and got it. Ditching the game disc and just having all the extra goodies would have probably save you and us a few bucks. also shipping to washington state is 12.99 bringing the total for me to about $83, which is pretty pricey, even with all the bells and whistles in the box.

That being said, I have just ordered it and eagerly await details on the 2 posters that have not been revealed yet (fingers crossed for an epic TEC fleet picture with the ragnarov titan, that ship is damn sexy) and more info on when it will be shipped out. It would be cool if the devs could possibly make a special DLC map for those of us who are getting this upgrade pack.

If they make a special map(s), I would expect and actually want it distributed to everyone. Multiplayer suffers greatly if you don't have the available maps.

I dont play online multiplayer of sins, have tried it a couple times but usually it drags on way too long or people just quit. But the map idea I had was just for single player, you get a titan and only a couple fleet size upgrades and no capitals, and do your best to survive against the other factions and their titans. Or hell maybe some wierd/silly map that has to deal with space ponies. it could be whatever the devs want, I am just saying that considering the huge price tag for post release CE thats pretty much only offered to those who already have the game via pre-ordering before rebellions release, something like that would be cool. I understand that they are offering us this CE at cost (which is already showing us dedicated sins players a lot of love) something fun or silly like that would be pretty awesome.

$118.95 to Australia...

Same for Canada... strange... I've never been a pro at geography but last I checked Canada was much closer to the US than Australia... Also not separated by an ocean...

How about focusing on getting Rebellion fixed instead of trying to bilk us out of more money for frakking toys and posters?

Mine is still 48 bucks, is there a way to lower it? I live in Canada and I preordered Rebellion.

How big is that model again?

Red Dwarf, you should edit out your email and stuff like that

How will they know where to send the link?  I'm kinda upset.  I've been waiting for this and I've been really good and I've eaten all my vegetables and stuff.  :)  But you are probably right.  Is Yarlen reachable?

Today? Probably not. But I Private Messaged him once and got a quick response, so I would do that and expect a response by tomorrow.

This looks awsome and I'd love to get it but the shipping to New Zealand is about the same cost as the collectors edition itself, around $150 NZD in total... :(

The KOL model looks great by the way, well done Stardock!

And cheers for the awesome game too.

If it was in August I would have. Not in my budget right now. :'(

The Skyrim Collector's edition was $150, Halo's was $150. This is pretty much comparable to both of those and I greatly respect this company as much as Bethesda so good on them, I might just get this.

Wow, so I can spend an additional $80 after spending my initial $30 for the rebellion beta/preorder?  And for this further $80 I receive a toy, some cheap dogtags, a soundtrack that can easily be ripped, and a useless game CD with no key.  On top of that no customer loyalty pricing for folks who bought all the sins games, and to finish the deal you do not even get a cd key allowing you to play the game?  I was going to get this for a friend to get him back into sins, but I suppose a steam gift it shall be.  Who sells a boxed game that has no cd-key?  Crummy "deal".

You should really make it clear in the advert that NO key is included, I almost bought this as a gift for someone.  As it has no means to actually activate and play the game online, it would have been a pretty crummy gift.
