I finished clinical rotations this morning and was given my final scores and evaluation from my tutors. Overall, I scored 98%. That's an 'A' grade, and it's good enough for me. Some of the girls in my class and I went out to eat after we were done, and before I dropped them home we went to get applications from some of the local nursing homes. I filled out 3 applications and know that, should I decide to take it, I'll be offered a job at one of them. T

But I have to say that cats aren't all bad. My cat loves dogs much more than other cats. But then, she is really clever like you. And don't worry about Dave rousing on you for licking your hoo-haa. He's just jealous cause he can't lick his own. :: You gots a cat too? Hmm. My momma talks about you a lot and she says that you're good

Oooh, I just had SO MUCH FUN with that yellow sucky thing! I gots my chops all sucked up in it and it feeled really funny but it made My Momma laugh so it was worth it. When I gots done playing with the sucky thing, I ringed the doorbell and went outside to go potty and MAN it was COLD on my bottom! That's another thing that makes me agooddawg - I know how to ring my bell that hangs on the door when I gots to go outside and do my bidness. My Momma and My Dave hunged th

It is I, Gracie. I am back again today because I don't gots to be in my room and My Momma is busy doing something with this white box that makes all kinds of slooshy water noises. She's putting those things that peoples wear over their fur every day in it, and then she puts some runny smelly stuff in there too. I dunno why you peoples don't have much fur - do you haves flees? I had a flea once. My Momma founded one on my belly, and then her and My Dave putted me

My fishes don't like cats too! One of My Kids gots a fishie in a bowl and a bird in a room that looks like mine but is much much smaller. I like to drink the water out of the fishie bowl, it tastes even better than water that comes from that big white bowl in the place where My People get clean. I like to look at that bird, but The

Hullo, the internets. My name is Gracie, and I is the bestest dawggy is the whole wide world. My momma and My Dave tell me that all the time. I live in a new house now that gots stairs to play on. I didn't like them stairs when we drove over here and I really wanted to go home, but My Dave said we gots to stay here now, Gracie, so I stayed. I gots a yard to play in, though, so that's good. My Momma thinks that I is smart because I can tell the ti

Well, Jake might lose his right front tooth. It snapped off so badly that the nerve was just about exposed and, despite Dr Brent's best efforts, it's going to be touch and go whether that nerve dies and Jake keeps that tooth or not. There wasn't any rebuilding this time, either. He's done too much damage. Dr Brent just patched him up the best he could, covering the exposed ends of tooth with composite filling so's that it wouldn't look AS bad. IF the ner

It is unfortunate to know these nurses are at the beginning of their careers and they've got years of this kind of abuse ahead of them (abuse is a strong word I know but by the sound of it, the correct one too Oh, it absolutely is abuse. If I were to find someone treating my mum like that then abuse is EXACTLY what I'd be calling it.

This happened 2 years ago: The same thing happened tonight, but this time it's much, much worse. He has barely any tooth left on his left side and not much on his right (he won't let me post a photo of it, bless him). I don't think that they can be fixed so easily this time...I have a feeling that a partial or some crowns might be necessary until he's done growing and is old enough to ha

OMG. I about peed my pants laughing at this. I read it to my husband (he refuses to read some JU articles, but I'm trying to change his mind and entice him with your blog) and he said "I don't find what he said all that odd, actually"....which just made me laugh even harder and now my belly hurts and I have tears in my eyes. Thank you. You made a slightly shitty day (hahahahahah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) much, much better.

Dear Bitches, I want you to know that I'm forever going to remember what you did today. For-fucking-ever. Your lack of humanity, your total and utter lack of care and concern for the person you loosely call your 'patient' will forever be my Gold Standard - of how NOT to behave, of how NOT to treat another human being. I want you to know how close I came to punching one of you in your gold-toothed-gum-snapping-mouth when you stripped that little old lady of a

Plastic - or cosmetic - surgery for celebrities has been a common thing for quite some time now, often with poor results. Nicole Kidman looks like a Klingon because she's had so much Botox injected into her forehead, Tara Reid had HORRIBLE breast implants with scarring around her areolas (remember the 'oops! my boobie fell out!' moment on the red carpet, anyone?) and her so much liposuction on her abdomen it looked like some pre-school kid's experiment with modelling clay, and lets not

As I said to her; a single symptom does not a diagnosis make. Still, it was scary for her. I can imagine! You know, the advent of the internet and sites like webMd must be the bane of physicians - because people try to diagnose themselves and end up with two and two making seventy-one, if you know what I mean. It IS

To my 'B'; Thank YOU for being a good friend to me, too. You've done more for me than you realize, and I hope that this symbiotic relationship we appear to have started continues for some time yet. I love you too, B. I hope that your Turkey Day went well; that you got to eat a lot in the company of the people who mean the most to you. If I'd have had my wish, you'd have been sitting at a table with me (and a couple of other J-Users), chowing down on some good food and having

Aww, Maso! See, this (message, I mean) is why you're my favorite Aussie bloggers. Actually, you're my favorite Australian, period. I'm thinking of having a couple of cocktails this evening, and I'll be raising a glass to you and your wife.

I have walked out on such arses before and (unfortunately) probably will again You know, as soon as she walked into the room and I came very, very close to saying 'sorry, I've made a mistake in agreeing to be seen by you. I'll make another appointment with a different physician' and just walking out of the room. However, I was

You would think that since it was not her first complaint, she might have learned something. Apparently not. Yep, apparently not. I mean, I understand that not every physician has charisma and is in the profession because they genuinely like helping folks - just as not all the nurses I work with like dealing with old people - but when pa

I had to go see a physician this morning. I've been having some disturbing symptoms - muscle fasiculations (twitching) in my hands, fingers, arms, legs, feet, toes, lips and tongue, feeling dizzy and off-balance a lot and extreme fatigue (so bad that I have a hard time making it up the stairs at home some days) are the main ones - and I wanted to get it checked out. I know my body pretty well and I know that something's just not right, so I called last week and made an appoin

Since I started clinical rotations, I've had to leave the house early in the morning, usually before the kids have gone to school. In the past, they've managed to get themselves out of the house and on to the bus without any problems. This morning, though....well, it was different. I had to leave EARLY, like oh-dark-hundred early, before the time that the kids would even have rolled out of bed. I had to wake them up early, which they didn't like much - but I w
