I was in the same boat and went ahead and ordered. I don't know for sure yet, but it looks like I can get access to the CE content (the downloads show up here: Link ). Presumably that means the package I will get in the mail is the CE?

That's what I thought, but at the same time I always got the impression they were kinda hedging on the physical goodies. That might be the result of confusion around the retailers who ordered the first-print regular edition instead of the CE, though. I'd just like a definite, unambiguous statement about the physical CE stuff for people who order a boxed edition from Stardock right now. If you have a link to one, that would be great.

I'm having the same problem with my local Gamestop. I preordered it, they don't have it yet, and don't know when they're going to get it. If they don't have it tomorrow, can I get the Collector's Edition box (the ship jewelry is nice, but what I really want is the paper tech tree; IMO, paper tech trees are mandatory for games with an interconnected tech tree) directly from Stardock, and if so, what do you need me to do? It looks like colony ships are a special case anyway. The normal ones are a bit better (in terms of how many components they carry) than anything you could design yourself at that tech level. You'd probably have to design your own from scratch anyway. Link

i dont think you can waste any funds in the game because any social production points you dont use gets converted into BC i believe (i read it in the manual somewhere) so technically your not losing any bc by having fully developed planets. I bought GalCiv waaaay back near when it was first released, and enjoyed it a lot at first. After a while, though, I started getting frustrated with how dramatically the gameplay dynamic would change after some of the patches.
