That's not quite the right scenario since you're talking about people and not nations and also not about territorial conquest/transfer. Instead consider the beginning of WWII when Germany invaded France. If operating under GalCiv2 AI then Germany invades France and France surrenders to the US. The US doesn't get any option in the matter and while they were trying to stay n

Sounds like they got the AI working well enough to mimic what a real player would do. If I know I am about to go down and there is zero hope of winning most of us would do the same thing. Why not flip the finger at your enemy one last time by doing this. What does the loser have to lose? Generally I have seen the AI turn thier last planet over to someone nearly on par with me so that, yes, I could take the last planet easily but do I want to get into a prolonged war with someone stronger th
Yeah, I agree. I have found myself now writing down on paper the stats of ny ships before clicking on the upgrade button versus before the "improvement" I only needed to remove the objects I wanted to upgrade. Not exactly a good step forward.
Yeah, I have seen that too. Drives me nuts.
Not always. I have had the AI surender to my enemies to spite me. Personally I love that message that basically gives me the finger before I am about to take thier last planet by putting it under the protection of another empire.
Possible Bug in weapon profile: Subspace Blasters: Does less damage, costs more and is larger size than Level 3 disrupters yet is only one level bellow Death Rays where as disrupters are several tech levels lower?
Anyone? or is this by design?
Why is the subspace blaster weapon less effective than the Level 3 disrupter? Its is 1 space more and does 1 point of damage less, yet is WAY up on the tech tree. Seems that this more advanced weapon should at least equal an outdated weapon if not exceed it by a bit.
Personally I would say change it but then again I generally dont pay much attention to the times listed either. My preference is that its a month so in my mind I put it as a month. Otherwise I major war only takes a few weeks, my planet can go from 2 billion people to 10 billion in less than 3 months and elections make zero sense. So, another option is to change it to Turns! then let everyone make u
Upgrading from Virtual Reality Centers to Zero G Arenas decreases your moral bonus instead of increasing it. Yup, you can see that (and fix if you like) in PlanetaryImprovements.xml. Zero G Sports Arena: 55 Virtual Reality Center: 40 I assume it was intended to be 60 or 70. This is not like the Stock Market case, where you lose Economic
Does anyone have the location for this option? I like that the goveners will upgrade my planets for me but I'd like them to stop building new ships everytime I mess with one of my designs.
Can you add only changes that one likes? Only add the planet changes but not the ship changes? Also why the jump in cost for the nano ripper? Generally I stick with beam weapons but such a large jump? When you mention metaverse, does it have its own planetary.xml files and such? Just wondering as otherwise it would be an easy way to bump your score up quickly by making some mods to the files listed here.
Yeah, I would like to see it help all planets, if only adding one section. Mars is a good example where it should be able to be improved slightly to a class 5 planet. Still not a great place to live compared to the class 15 ones but still it doesnt make much sense to not allow class 4 to go to 5.
Actually one thing I thought would add to the game would be overall strategic commands. Tell your ships to target a certain class first in battle, or spread evenly damage across all targets. Im amazed by the number of times I see the battle go badly as my ships wont try to take out thier largest ship first. Yes, it is ballanced as it works both ways but I see this being a simple thing to change. Add in an option to target hulls in a certain order to allow you to go after a capital ship.<br
Aint it amazing to see all these game experts suddenly sign up for accounts in the past few days and have ALL this knowledge of how buggy the game is.... As for buggy or not buggy.. Nope.. not even close to some games out there. MooIII was a bit of a nightmare and while I loved Civ4 (still play it) it didnt even work for me for the first 32 hours as they had a BAD ati video bug. Nothing like this happened here. Do I get CTD's? Sure... After 4 hours of playing.... I think of it more a
I wish there was. I ended up simply quiting one campaign as they overwhelmed pretty much everyone. At that point it was no longer fun or worth playing, so I started over anew.
Looking at the postings on thier sales, I do not see multiplayer having much of an impact on it. Sales are WAY up and thats without multi-player. Sure, a few more might buy it for that feature but given the length of the games most may not have the time nor the patience for it. Most MP games are quick events, single battles or quick action. ever try Civ4 on Epic in a MP game? I dont recomend it....
Amazing!!! if you can, save out your ship files to a zip and post them someplace as I would love to see how you set those up.
Ability to copy and or edit the core ships in the game.
I second the template idea. While I will make my own ships for fighting agianst opponents, some core ships simply dont need a lot of design.
Maybe that is what I am doing wrong? I am trying to edit the core ships. Can you only edit ships you designed?
Ok, this may be the stupidest question ever, but can one edit existing ships? I like the designs that SD came up with but I'd like to make the Defender MKII, MK III etc without having to re-make the entire ship.
yeah well he sent his save game to Star Dock so we'll all know eventually what the issue is. Is a PQ 72 possible or was it a bug. I personally think bug as I have had some legit 36 planets and if I hit the Evil bonus.. WHAM.. 72! would it have 72 tiles? No, so the game may have a small bug that doubles the PQ listing but not the actual PQ.
I really feel for Star Dock on this one. I wonder how many sales they will lose due to the retail channel slipping like this. Generally if a user sees something on a review, and sees that its out, they belive it. So on thier next trip they look for it and its not there and the retailer blows it off, they are likely to buy something else. Gamers are implulse shoppers and if product X isnt availible its likely they will buy product Y.
Actually I noticed this too that once and a while, (maybe 2x in three games) it would show the old style. Every other time it would show the full battle though which is quite cool.
