So no-one else has this issue? I've noticed that if I run an app, say, PureSync from a Fence that contains 20 apps in alphabetical order that its icon will jump to the right-hand side occasionally rather than stay in its alphabetical sequence. ObjectDock set to not show on top but it still sometimes intrudes on active maximised windows in ObjectDock Stardock Forums

I've been using ObjectDock for a few weeks now on both my old i7-920 PC and my new i7-4770K one with a clean install of Windows 8 Pro. In both I have ObjectDock set so that it doesn't appear on top of every window I open and that works most of the time. Occasionally it doesn't though with maximised windows such as those of a browser and I have to minimize then maximize the window I have open in, say, Firefox v22.0 in order to get its window to appear on top of ObjectDock.

Thanks Kris. I was puzzled as to why Stardock Central shows my installed version of Decor8 as being 1.02 when Decore8's About shows it is 1.05. I'll update again (for the last time hopefully) later and report back here if it finally works. Incidentally, it is possible to just edit the registry rather than have to download and reinstall again?

If I run Check for Updates from Decor8's About menu it tells me there are no updates. It shows as version 1.05.

I was prompted to install two updates by Stardock Central yesterday, one for WinFX 5.11 Beta and another for Decor8 1.05 Beta. I did them one after the other but despite WinFX installing OK, Decor8 1.05 Beta keeps showing in Stardock Central. No matter how many times I install it and how many times I reboot it keeps showing when version 1.05 is already installed. Why? Is this a bug because I had no problems installing the recent Start8 Beta or WinFX Beta? I'm using a clean

[BUG] Allocate room for at least XX large icons does not work as expected in Start8 Stardock Forums

I have noticed that Start8 doesn't display all my pinned to Start8 menu icons properly. I cuurently have 21 shortcuts and if I set the Allocate for room... option to 0 then it displays only 16 of them. If I set it to 16 then it displays the exact same number of icons as 0 so presumably 16 is the default? However, if I set it to 17 or 18 then I still only see the same 16 icons despite there being 21 items in the list. The only way to refresh the list is to click on the Use large ic

I've been using Fences 2.0 for a few months now and I love it because it keeps all my desktop icons tidy and in conveniently named windows. Very useful, especially as some applications have an annoying tendency to mess up the traditional desktop icon placement. I have three Fences for System, Benchmarks and Programs/Applications plus two Portals for my games shortcuts. The Fences use using grids which click to specific sizes when I make them bigger to accommodate the icons inside.

So could I add specific locations to Windows Defender to speed up the population of the Games Explorer menu shortcuts then other than turning it off? If so then which ones would I have to add please? If I add %ProgramData%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs and C:\Users\All Users\ to its exclusion list, would that work?

I found the a Games folder in Users\All Users in the same AppData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs location. It turned out the issue was caused by conflicting shortcuts in both that location and the one for my user account, Darren. Once I'd deleted the duplicates then only one Games folder showed in Start > All Programs and it was populated with all the games I'd been installing. I've no idea why this issue occurred on a clean install but I presume the All Users fo

OK, I have been able to resolve both of the issues in posts #1 and #7. The activation error I fixed by uninstalling ObjectDock and running two registry cleaners, CClean v4.21 and Raxco's PerfectRegistry v2.0, then finally reinstalling the application again. No more annoying error message at boot. The settings error I found was caused by missing folders in the C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319 folder, specifically Config and ASP.NETWebAdminFiles. I was able to o

I tried uninstalling then reinstalling ObjectDock but now although the dock etc appear as they should, I'm getting an error window: ObjectDock Activation - Error: ObjectDock is not correctly installed. Please reinstall and try again. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling it several times, even using the Run as Administrator option but I get the error every time I boot my PC and each time I close then open the app.

Just to clarify, I *can* access things like Add, View and Position from the right-click context menu but I cannot access the actual Settings menu due to the error in my second post above.

I've been waiting for ObjectDock to be updated for Windows 8 as I love the idea of having a Mac-like dock so when I got the email this morning I immediately bought and installed it. I'm finding the wallpaper option for the Lock screen doesn't work properly. I can set it and it previews fine but when I actually sign out of my profile then the default wallpaper shows (the one with the lighthouse). I've had Fences 2 installed for a while (since the initial v2.0 release) and it has mostly been working fine with no crashes or anything like that. I installed the Fences v2.1 beta last night too and it is showing as v2.01 in the About menu when I run the program. However, the Fences executable in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\Fences folder shows v2.10.0.485. So is the beta correctly installed or not?

This issue seems to finally be fixed in v1.01 although it was a long time coming. I reported this issue over two months ago so I'm surprised it took so long to address.

I love the addition of the clock to the Start screen but don't like the 24-hour format as elsewhere the time is displayed in 12-hour clock format. Would be nice if Decor8 could display the Start screen clock in the format set in Windows. Also, if you're displaying a clock then why not the date as well (as shown on the Lock screen etc)?
