Well science justifications being thrown totally out of the window due to it being a space opera sci-fi setting.... An easy justification is that bases through their assist abilities, do in fact have the ability to fire anywhere in their radius of effect, unfortunately targeting ships at these ranges is completely impossible due to electronic warfare, and the naturally scrambling effect of FTL travel through hyperdrive. The only way for starbases to actively become involved
I think I am going to post my losses when I get some (I'm moving up to a higher level soon and 1.12 is higher) The entire 100% win thing is a result of silly insecurities, I feel kind of silly for not posting my 2 games that looked like loses when I was learning, I mean who cares?
It's like weapons, where if you have one all the assits work. So if a ship has one shield, and the base gives +3 +3 +3 Your fighter will have 4 shields, 3 armour and 3 point defence.
Meh, this thread is less about gender than it is about getting attention, stop feeding the trolls guys.
Xpyre really hit the nail on the head with this one. If in a game this is what you consider a "big AI problem" you don't know how good you actually have it compared to 90% of the games out there.
Do forum trolls have a gender?
The reason that weapons grow in size as they get placed on larger hulls is not a function of being "realistic" it's a function of balance. Larger hull sizes have more hit points, and can carry higher concentrations of firepower (for overwhelming defences) if weapons remained the same size, the entire game would be about rushing to larger hulls so you could mount rediculous numbers of weapons, and small ships would then suffer from being slower as well as having lower attack/defence/hitpoint valu
I wait until I can stick two impulse engines and a weapon on the ship, that way they can keep up to the first generation impulse based craft I build. Generally that is fairly early, I will pump out a few defenders if a neighbor starts to get a little testy with me, but I prefer to avoid it as the things are useless when the shooting starts.
Buy the first factory to get the ball rolling. It will pay for itself quickly.
