The Peace Corp

Well just recently I made a leap of faith. On friday of last week I submitted my application to the Peace Corp and I am wondering if there is anyone out there who is either in it already or has been in the past. Just wondering what it was like and what kind of things you may be experiencing or did experience let me know because I would love to hear from anyone who has any input on it.

I haven't been in the peace corps but in my younger days I recall having lots of blind faith when it came to the idea of the peace corps. That was before I came to realize the futility of trying to fight and/or oppose the powers that be. I'm not saying the peace corps is necessarily a bad thing, only that if you wish to help people, help the ones in your backyard first.

I am wanting to help people mostly. I have always loved helping people and want a change in my life and I can figure no other way than to help those that are less fortunate or just need someone while I am looking for a way in life possibly. I sent my app. in but I have not yet decided whether or not I will actually take that leap yet. I am hoping to hear from more people to get some more input.
