Chasing Off The Den

I was looking around for Lynx's Den's Stuff and found nothing here. When i finally was able to get into the homepage, there was nothing there either in regards to any of his work, which i might as well add, was one of my favorites here, and one of the main reasons i was coming here The Thought? It makes some wonder, how a person who in my opinion, and many others i'm sure, who has an awsome talent that could most-likely match just about anyone here, that most of us wish we had, and i'm sure i'm not just speaking for myself when i say, was a real up-n-comer, get the feeling he doesn't belong in a place like this. I have seen the posts and comments of complaints of how things are around here, and i have to admit, i agree with alot of it. And when some of us see a talented individual get chased off because of it, just becomes a real shame! To see someone with talent, someone who has the potential to really become something to this community, and even (Maybe in the future) could of given some benifit (I saw how his referals were coming along), to this site. Guess thats something that we will never find out , and in alot of ways just justifies all those complaints people have been making about how things really are.... Like I said 'What A Shame" (just a thought)

Ok lets start by saying that i'm not saying any of this to start any kind of fights or anything, (no offence to anyone) and i know Tess you have no intention of doing either as well (I do see your points) and why you brought this up, as far as complaints, bitching or what ever you want to call it, everyone knows what she is talking about, this rating thing, whats being posted and what isn't, all the things we all have commented, and read throughout the forum and everywhere else (like comments on posts), for like the past week or so. Basicly from my understanding, and from what i've heard, a piece of work was uploaded yesterday or the day before, and Wincustomize, as, I really don't want to say picky, but i think you get what i mean, posted it, then someone desided to call this post a rip off from someone else (SkinFactory), I think it was, now i saw the post right before it was removed, and to me even though it may had some simularities that some may of saw, but enough changes where it really didn't look anything like what it was being accused of looking like (but i didn't consider it a rip-off), i don't think it was right for someone to come along and blatently trash & threaten someone like what happened here (in this case), Wincustomize as long as i have been a member here has been pretty serious (and sometimes) in my opinion, a little to picky about what they will post, apparently they did not feel that in this case and posted it. In the process Lynx's den got trashed, and now i see everything of his is gone, personally i really don't blame him, i would of been pretty pissed off and upset too about the situation., he eventually removed the post,not wincustomize (and he wasn't asked too), and i think the real point Tess is trying to make, is now because of the way someone handled it, and not presenting the situation in a more civil manner, it (his work) will be missed!..... Thats all

First of i changed my account to my yahoo email acount because i was having problems with my provider account, and that makes it fishy? jesus, some of you will say or accuse someone of just about anything, gee forget it, sorry i voiced my opinion....

just because of one comment seems a bit childish to me...
he should have said "thankyou very much for the comment" and then
leave it at that......can't please everybody...
how much bad comments did he get, i think 9 out of 10 were positive
comments....so i really don't understand.......
Give me as much nasty comments or low ratings as you want,
i couldn't care less......
but it's a shame he left.......

NightTrain, that was messed up, I had to change my acount twice when the old site was up, even contacted admin about it and they even told me to redo it, that wasn't right!

And ozzy: i see your point too, i have watch and commented on just about everything that was ever posted ((By him), and i don't think i ever saw once, where he got any bad comments to speak of, and i don't think those kind of things were really an issue to him either, i think the point here is this palce emphisizes on community, not a linching mob, and i think thats what happened, don't get me wrong, i'm not saying wincustomize, i'm saying individuals, and yes its a real shame he's gone, i personally felt he was prtty damn good, and tess don't worry about it, you voiced your opinion, thats all you can do, like Ozzy said can't please everyone all the time

He also left because his wallpapers were not allowed because it had his lynxs den logo on it that was the reason they were rejected was because "nobody wants walls with his logo on it was the reason for rejection. I know he has a lot of talent and it didnt bother me that his logos were on the walls.He wasnt upset about the ratings , he was upset because somebody called him a skin factory rip and that his walls were rejected because of a simple logo. Let us decide if we want walls with his logo on it or not.If some dont like logos on their walls then they dont have to download them . I personally dont mind if his logo is on the walls he has some outstanding and awesome wall.Apparently it seems to me people want his stuff or people wouldnt be looking and wondering where his stuff went.So if anyone wants to find him you can find him here at :http://lynxs-den.deviantart.com/

Strange that, all I can remember is that at his last thread here in the forum (when he left for the first time) everyone was extremely supporting. And as Ozzy said, the majority of the comments to his skins where very positive.

I have uploaded walls here too, and none of them made it. So what's the big deal? The rule for having a 'in your face' or big logo on your wall applies to everyone and was not just made up to annoy Linx'sDen. Sorry, but I think he seems to be a bit of a drama queen.

...still sorry he left though.

WTF!!!!!! Ok by request of my man Bean (and thats not a gay thing so don't even ), i came her to checkout whatever it was going on, cause he kinda comfused me.... First i think some things got a little screwed up, and somethings misunderstood, "A Drama Queen???? ok, "ALRIGHTY THEN!!! To take a phrase from Ozzy "F*** U very much..... "THE WALL THING" That didn't bother me all that much, but i did go through the wall catagory and saw walls there with (Logos, addys, names, ect.), when i recieved notice about the walls i uploaded (which now reach about 10-12)and all were rejected, I took it in stride and even told Jafo (who wrote me about the last 2), that was fine. then i just won't post walls, I have always put together my own walls, in fact i average about 230 emails a day either requesting them, or requesting to design or redesign some. and i have always put my company logo and name on them, and i will not change that, I design or redesigned them, i think i have the right to put my trademark on them, even if that means that they won't be excepted..... Ok Now the rainy situation, a lot of good points and i think misunderstood points where made about this one, regardless of what any one thought about it, and i might as well add a good majority didn't seem to have a problem with it, or it wouldn't of been downloaded as many times as it was before i removed it, and again i'll add that the base of that particular design was actually a redesign of the backing of my Primal Rainy (sorry if it just happened to look simular to some people).... But when someone comes along accuses you (makes false acusations) on one site, which it started here, then starts to go to every site that you may have your work displayed and does the same thing, and even goes as far as throwing threats at you about admins and stuff, just to have your work removed, sorry but i think thats a little overboard (To be called childish) to be a little upset about that, it could of been handled in a more civil manner.... and in turn makes you wonder what kind of people are allowed in some places, thats why i left, (Quietly I might add) and besides if anyone remembers i did post an opinion thread (In The Forum) on that issue to get some imput on how people really felt about the rainy, then afterward, volentarily removed it.... I am sorry to all who enjoyed or i guess i could say became fans of my work, I would of never thought that it would be of some debate, argument ect., and that i take responsability for, (But i did leave a link), I think blade said it best, this is suppost to be a community, one where we are all friends (are able to voice our opinions without being insulted about them or accused of something), and help each other where-ever possible, and i think there should be a little fairness about some issues too, not a linching mob, we are all here to have fun, make friends, share our imput, learn a few things,show and improve our talents, that goes for newbe's and vets alike!Thanks to all (Bean,Tess,Blade ECT.) Lynx's Den  ...those walls of yours would be entirely acceptable if the logos were smaller or semi-transparent at least.   As they are, they detract from what is intended to be a 'wall image', and are too big to be concealed behind a taskbar, etc....and if they are only half concealed behind the bar will look clearly 'out of place'.

Needless to say yours were not the first uploads to be moderated for that same reason....nor will they be the last.

Generally prospective uploaders simply 'adjust' their logo size/visibility/prominence and the wallpapers are accepted.

As for the rainy in question.....I approved the upload originally....and following notification of its 'similarity' to a TSF work removed it from view [it seems at the same time you did so...as I noticed a glitch in the process].

As much as is possible we 'catch' these sorts of issues before public display and have them resolved.  In this case it got under the radar and was public before attracting 'attention'.  Only thing to do then was to remove it and verify origins, etc.

All this is inoccuous and 'should' be no reason to pack one's bags and depart.  The rules pertaining to uploads and authorship, etc are here to protect everyone, equally.

If allowed to be put in practise everyone's rights are respected....

...I don't mean standing next to him or in the same room with him. I mean I agree with him.

Rules are usually put in place because somewhere down the line, someone abused a privelage. I want everyone to stay. Different personalities make for a vibrant community. But this horse has been beat to death.

I never made an issue on the site or in reponse to you jafo about the rules reguarding the policies of the site (except maybe some fairness regarding other issues), every site has them, and i understood fully why i got the notifications i got from you (even returned a responce telling you so) BTW you never mentioned about the smaller or more trans issues.... I consider you one of the best here (no offence to anyone else), you have help me more than once and that was very appreciated.... my main thing was that individuals could of said hey dude this looks to much like someone elses work (which some did in the post i posted on the issue), you need to take it off (i would of been ok with that), instead of going to other sites where my work would be posted and start a bunch of crap and throw around idol threats, there as well.... and Dragon your right as well, thats why i'll leave it at that (kinda getting tired of it myself ).... Done.... No-more Issues Here

Lynx's Den ...yes, that's why we have 'moderation' at all....to hopefully minimize the occasions when someone a wee bit too ham-fisted comes down on someone else like a ton of bricks in public and noses are put out of joint by it all.

[OK, I promise not to mix any more metaphors]

Like everything in life....online 'decisions' need to be made with a cool head...particularly those that may affect your own future enjoyment/direction.

HOLY CRAP!!!!! Someone actually heard what i was trying to say...... and again Jafo your right, maybe i made a move to prematurely (i can except that), and if i made a mistake somehow i can except that too, but when it seems like someones out to ruin you (for no reason what-so-ever), not to mention you don't even know the person/persons, or have done anything to piss this individual/individuals off, yeah i can admit i got a little pissed of at that, Like you said a reputation was at stake here, and thanks i know you've mentioned my work to me on a number of occations, (and basicly i think i could say thats why this post was started), I really don't think it was started to fire-up any friction, i think it was more of trying to let the leaders know of maybe some of the things you don't and can't catch all the time (Hell Fuzzy had no clue.....LOL)..... I think people just need to be more level headed, and open-minded, and a little more respectful, if you know what i mean....

This is true Dragon, i agree there, and i have to admit i didn't help the situation by bailing, and basicly didn't really know i was that popular (guess i'm better than i thought ), i can admit i was wrong too, and in a lot of ways let people like Tess, blade, bean, jafo, dragon and the many others down by just saying darn it, i don't need this crap, like i said when it was moved to other sites, i can admit i lost my head a little, i think in a situation like that most would...., Jafo and i are working things out! (what a guy )

Want to appoligize to all my friends, the site and its leader for all this trouble,like i said didn't know (and in the current situation that arose), didn't think my apperance here ment that much.... Sorry!!!! And thanks to all for your support, very much appreciated!
