Gal Civ Sales.

Stardock Forums
Congratulations Brad & Company. I'm a bit disappointed that the direct sales has not been bigger for you guys though. Guess the online sale revolution is just not upon us yet. Thank you for the great support you guys have been giving us. I also have friends that have bought the game after playing the pirated version for a while. The upgrades were just to good
.
PS: There has been a bit less posts from devs on the forums of late, I hope this will change again ( E3 something to do with it perhaps ) as your presence here is EXTREMELY appreciated by us gamers.
"Having the big three game mags giving GalCiv their stamp of approval has definitely been morale lifting. And its sales seem to be following the reviews as it's looking like GalCiv may become Strategy First's (our publisher) top selling game of all time if the sales hold up."
"A lot of people were curious about GalCiv's direct sales. Galactic Civilizations has sold really well at retail. But it has also been doing well directly too where players can purchase it and download it. It may be the first major retail game that allows you the option to literally download and make your own CD of it. Sales aren't huge in quanity (<10,000 so far) but at $40 per unit, it's a pretty good amount of revenue with virtually no overhead. But the real surprise is that it actually seems to be helping retail sales. I say that becuase it seems a lot of early adopters got ahold of it electronically and through word of mouth the game has made it into the minds of casual gamers who have gone on to purchase it at retail."
