Hi everybody,

what's going wrong with this new wincustomize?It's very strange that me as member of wincustomize since years and client of stardock on which web I have bought a bunch of progis and software suddenly have been requested to renew my wincustomize account (access) requesting me to renew my account for $ 19.95? Ha.ha. ha. ha.Guys what have you produced???
And than I can suddenly downlaod normally. Later on I have been requested to cross check my account with E-Mail address I have opened my account at wincustomoze and one I have downloaded(bought) my software at stardock?!!!?!!?!?!?Guys I never had 2 accounts (E-mail addresses). I had one only for wincustomize account and stardock programs. So please let me know what's actually going on on this page?????

I'm not clear on the problem. Are you being asked to renew your WC subscription before it has expired, or has it actually expired? WC subscriptions are $20 for 2 years. Either way, you shouldn't have any download cap since you are a Stardock customer.

a subscription to WC is only good for 2 years....if it has been 2 years since you purchased it, then you need to resubscribe...
WC and stardock work together but are two separate entitys .. when you purchase a stardock product i dont believe it automatically sets your account here to register that..i believe you would still need to cross referance the two accounts so your WC account reflects your "stardock purchaser" status..

remember a stardock user account here is different from a WC subscriber...(when you purchase a stardock product part of the $ goes to WC to help off set costs.. when you purchase a WC subscription all the $ goes to WC ) there is a faq somewhere that explains the differences between the different types of accounts....

i too have both a WC subscription as well as a object desktop subscription..and i cross referenced both together...

Cross referencing doesnt nescesarily need two different adresses. I bought both my WinC one and my Stardock stuff with the same addy, but crossreferenced anyways to get them to mesh together. They're in seperate databases, I think.

Remember, there will be glitchs when a site just comes up. Just give it some time for stardock to fix all the little glitchs.

My account (Subscription didn't expire). I renew it everytime before.The funny thing is that once I'm not able to downlaod at all and suddenly it works. If I croos reference my account (E-Mail address)it displays I have to renew my account?! My subscription at WC (SD)is still valid!I never had any problems in the past!
So can anybody exactly explain what shall I do to access my downloads normally? And what means cross reference my account? I had always only one E-Mail address procuring the products at stardock and downloading(login)at WC!

This are the requests I get displayed regarding cross reference!

Step 1: Enter an email address


Your current level is User Level 3 (CurrentCustomer)

Cross Referencing is used to join your WinCustomize.com account ([email protected]) to a separate Stardock account(email address) in which you used to purchase products.

Example: Lets say you have used [email protected] as your email address for your Wincustomize.com account and you have used [email protected] when you purchased a product from the Stardock or WinCustomize store. Depending on what you have purchased, that would enable to you receive either a UserLevel access or either 3, 4 or 5 on WinCustomize. But since you have used a different email address to make the purchase WinCustomize has no idea that your UserLevel should change. So what you need to do is cross reference your wincustomize account (ie: [email protected]) to your Stardock Purchase/Registration account (ie: [email protected]) so that WinCustomize can give you the appropriate access. So below you would enter in your email address in which you used to purchase or register your products (ie: [email protected])


Enter your email address, in which you used to purchase a stardock product, in the box below too have it cross referenced with your WinCustomize account. Then click the Submit button. A verification email will be sent to this address. Upon receipt of this email please click on the link that is provided. Upon completion of the verification process WinCustomize will attempt to cross reference your accounts.

Someone on irc reported a similar problem, I belive it might be a small bug related to the new site. The person who reported it has e-mailed T-Man and notified him about it.

You may have noticed that WC has been re-designed. It's not just a new skin, the entire code base was rewritten. So there are bound to be glitches. Please be patient.

Consider, the alternative to subscriptions - if people didn't buy and renew their subscriptions Stardock would shut down this site in a heart beat and just point its software sections over to deviantART and cal it a day.

We want WinCustomize to be a great site that is growing. But from Stardock's point of view, it matters little whether it's WinCustomize serving the skins or deviantART or some other website.
